Spending a lot of time banging out gesture drawings and anatomy studies really seems to help, though. Spent a good amount of time just drawing hands the past week and I think it paid ...

Thanks guys! I've still got a lot I need to improve on by practicing perspective and anatomy etc, but it's fun to occasionally draw a KS character in the meantime.

Yeah, I'm terrible at hands. They're so damn hard to draw. Just spent an hour drawing my hand repeatedly from different angles. Hopefully with more of that kind of thing I'll get better in the future.

I think you're absolutely right. Shizune sometimes doesn't get enough time in human brainspace; it's too easy to dismiss someone who grates on your nerves or tries to run your life, and then when you discover they're real people just like us, it might be too late.

Something weird happened when I played Shizune's route--I started thinking of her as being a much sadder, lonelier person than perhaps she was intended to come across as, and I can't get rid of that perception, or shake the feeling that even after her good ending, she still had a lot to work through ...

Yeah, I was referring to the stuffed penguin here. Seemed like it must've been placed there intentionally. More idle curiosity than anything else, since she doesn't seem to have many possessions whatsoever.
