1. "DC ~ Da Capo": I watched the anime first. Watching Nemu, Junichi, and Sakura go through that emotional roller coaster physically hurt. I decided when I got the VN to play Moe-sempai's route because she was the fluffiest and funniest character in the anime and I needed a breather. I soon discovered that Moe-sempai's route is the most emotionally devastating of all of them.

2. "Miles Vorkosigan Saga": Still my favorite science fiction novel series. Bujold does a fantastic job at making you empathize for the characters. Elli and Miles breaking up at the end of "Memory" made me sad, but nothing compared to the final hundred words in "Cryoburn." Miles' unofficial motto, "Forward Momentum," is my personal mantra for times when I feel overwhelmed by life.
3. "The Deer Hunter": I watched this movie alone in a darkened room. I sat there after the ending credits listening to that beautiful guitar theme play out, then went silently to bed and cried into my pillow.
4. "Saishuuheiki Kanojo": aka "Saikano" aka "She, the Ultimate Weapon." The horrors of war and the end of the world juxtaposed over high school romantic angst.
