Uncanny. You posted this just as I was writing a cheque for the local MFPA (Mouth and Foot Painting Artists), an organisation which sells the works of disabled artists.Rhodri wrote:Something for my fellow Brits.

*nods* You know, that makes way too much sense not to be accurate. Essentially, it's making the women feel young again, and who wouldn't want that ? Lovely video.brythain wrote:This is an interesting piece on what happens when Japanese women who've been married a while are suddenly addressed by their first names: [LINK]

There's normally a small group of handles, like 'dear' and so on. Sometimes after many years, you find that using a first name seems somehow odd.CoffeeDrive wrote:Their name or equivalent Nickname?brythain wrote:The things one normally calls one's life-partner?Atario wrote:Uh… what had you been calling her up till then?

I was worried that it was going to be about their kids using their first names for some reason, that doesn't sit well with me.

Maybe because a parent-child relationship is not of two equals and a man-wife one ideally is?

Like they mentioned, calling them by their first name sparks memories of before which they'll always keep close in their heart. It's strangely insightful, for something this easily overlooked. Wouldn't have thought of it myself either.
