Volunteer for Turkish translation

Post by ihsanjr »

Well, this game destroyed me emotionally and it may be the best material I've ever consumed, I want to contribute it with anyway I can. I'm a native Turkish speaker and a translator in Turkish Wikipedia. (I translated KS to Turkish http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katawa_Shoujo and here's a link to all of my professional translations: http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kullan%C4% ... k%C4%B1lar).

I want to translate Act 1 to Turkish, how can I contact with the people who can let me do this.

Edit: I felt like I should write down some specific translations I did, not the whole list. I'm not doing this for bragging, it's just for the sake of credibility:
*Örme zincir (Chain mail) - http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%96rme_zincir
*Plaka zırh (Plate armour) - http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaka_z%C4%B1rh
*Nicolas Poussin - http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas_Poussin
*Oksijen (Oxygen) - http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oksijen
*Sağcılık (Right-wing politics) - http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sa%C4%9Fc%C4%B1l%C4%B1k
*Helen Caldicott - http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_Caldicott
*Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda Alevi zulmü (Ottoman persecution of Alevis) - http://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmanl%C4% ... zulm%C3%BC

Hi, welcome to the Katawa Shoujo Community Support forums.

Please hold, an administrator may need to assess your initiative, as it may be a violation of Creative Commons BY-NC-ND, unless waived like the other translation projects.

Other than that, I'd support you, although I dunno Turkish. Sorry.

If I've read that thread correctly, the chances of you being able to do a translation of katawa shoujo in your native language would be impossible since you weren't involved in the translation of act 1 originally.

There goes my chance of redemption. I guess I will just wait for the future public translation subforum.

But wait, how can someone start translating the 1st act so that they can be given permission to translate the whole game? Do they ask for the script of the 1st act directly from the devs and send their translation?

It's too late now. You had to be there.

So I had to be involved at that time...
Still, I wonder why is there such a limited availability for the translations. Isn't translating the VN making it available to more people which is a good thing? (as long as it is done responsibly of course.)
