What's PTSD?

It stands for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Basically an irrational fear of something related to some kind of psychological trauma a person had in the past.

Like, if I got in a car accident and almost died, I might be afraid to get in a car again for a while.

Hanako seems to be the only one that has this, unless you want to count Kenji's fear of phones. Otherwise he's just a crackpot.

Wait, a Katie poll that isn't batshit insane? (Well, OK, the Mutou option is out of nowhere.)

We don't see enough about Sae to know whether she suffers from PTSD.

If Hisao suffers from PTSD, it's pretty minor.

That leaves Kenji, Emi, and Hanako.

Emi can function despite her PTSD. (That said, her PTSD forms the core conflict of her route.)

Kenji's problems aren't just PTSD.

Hanako... now she's got industrial-strength PTSD.

edit: I instinctively voted Hanako, but now that I think about it, Kenji got way more fucked up. Hanako, at some level, still remained a functioning member of society. Kenji literally went crazy and actually fucking murdered someone.

Besides, Kenji is very functional. He made all these interesting websites with graphs...

Kenji is perfectly capable of interacting with others, including females. He just chooses not to.

Kenji threw Hisao off the roof. In one route he straight up said he'd do that to make it look like an accident.

Wait, didn't Hanako function fine in groups when she's not the focus of the group's attention?

That wasn't murder it was mercy killing, Kenji knew Hisao didn't got together with any of the girls amd decided death was the better option for him

Other characters have some PTSD, but Hanako takes the cake.

I'd argue as to why Kenji would be far worse off in terms of employment, but that's not the point. The point is that Hanako has suffered a great deal of PTSD, but unlike Kenji, it didn't turn her into a delusional maniac who will murder someone at the slightest provocation. The only reason why it looks like Hanako's is more severe is because Kenji's ordeal is hilarious.

Haha, what. I can't tell if this post is serious or not, but it's hilarious either way. I didn't have a girlfriend at 18 either, but I'm quite glad that nobody decided that it was for my own good to put me down.

I'd say Hanako, but Emi would be a close second. Sure she can still function, but they've both lost family members and are reminded of that by their own disabilities.

Kenji's PTSD is a rather minor part of what's wrong with him, though. Subtract the PTSD, and he'd still be paranoid and delusional, just slightly less so, and more in general than focused on feminists. Subtract the paranoid delusions, and he'd be a mostly normal misogynist, even with the PTSD. (Never mind that the PTSD only occurred because of the paranoid delusions.)

And, Hanako lost so much more than her family - the fact that she lost positive human interaction after the fire is, apparently, a far more severe source of PTSD for her. Emi didn't have any of that - she only lost one parent, she didn't lose the ability to have positive human interaction, and she didn't even lose her other passion, running.
