Sequel/Port of KS

Post by Axle_Magnum »

Many people have probably already asked for a sequel to Katawa Shoujo, but what about a port of the game? Just a simple port to most of the current systems, such as the 3DS, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, the Wii, and maybe the Wii U when it comes out. Any thoughts?

First question. Note the flashing lights.

Seriously, it's impossible to navigate anywhere on this forum without being directed to this page, and there are plenty of threads that are recommended reading that also direct you to the FAQs.

Reading comprehension is your friend. If the moderators of a forum recommend you read something, it's generally a good idea.

The FAQs are there because those questions are asked frequently. Just because you word your question in an ever-so-slightly different manner, it's still a FAQ.

Sorry, it's my first time on this forum, and I was kinda in a bit of a rush and didn't read the FAQ. Sorry again.

Addressing your port question directly, even if the people in charge did want to make one, there are a few problems. I could argue about Katawa Shoujo not being a video game but there's also an issue beyond semantics, and that's the fact that this is an adult item. Not just explicit nudity, there's depiction of genitalia, depiction of penetration, and Lilly's bush deserves it's own special mention. XBLA, PSN and Nintendo would NEVER host Katawa Shoujo, and a boxed console release is equally unthinkable. Not to mention the fact that it's free to download already and most services like XBLA or Steam won't be in a hurry to host it even if there wasn't more or less a ban on adult items in the current market.

I didn't really think of that. I was fairly too wrapped in my feels to think about that sort of stuff.

A console port of KS is out of the question. 4LS isn't interested in it, the sex scenes would instantly turn off Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft, and to top it all off there's no way to justify paying for something that's already been made available for free.

A Steam release is slightly more feasible, but again, 4LS isn't interested.

Did someone say 'port'?

There's one for the PSP.
