I own it and have a huge love/hate relationship with it.
the gameplay is such a fucking great step-up from the already wonderful first one, but the story and the characters are basically every fucking anime cliche ever. It's bad enough that i find myself not playing it because i hate the characters just that much. Still recommend it either way.

And that's half the reason I haven't played the game in several months. I also recommend it, however.
