Lessons Learned from KS
This game (being as brilliant and so on as it is) has made me realise a few things that I didn't know before.
The big ones on the forums are compassion, no white knighting, and getting fit (because who knows when you'll have a heart attack?)
So, what I'm asking is what have YOU learned from Katawa Shoujo?

Became a better person because of KS. But I was pretty awesome to begin with.

I learned to live life a little more leniently, and also made me wonder about my stance on girls, and how looks may not be everything. Sometimes just because they got a disability doesnt mean they arent for you. Before Katawa Shoujo I really just paid no attention to them, but now I almost think it adds to character.

Lots of other "stuff I realized" in those.

This may sound depressing, but one of the things I've learned is that most people in my life currently are just really shallow. If I had anyone like these characters in my life, disabilities or not, it'd be quite amazing.

I almost forgot about that. I also realized that people in my life are just uninteresting. I have even completely ceased contact with someShadeHaven wrote:This may sound depressing, but one of the things I've learned is that most people in my life currently are just really shallow. Makes you wonder what 'School Days' fans learned from the VN.rydiafan wrote:I learned That KS fans are nuts ( still not as bad as FF7 fanboys ... yet lol )

1. Cheating is good--although it may result in your untimely demise by a kitchen knife by your girlfriend's hand.
2. Killing your lover because he cheats is good. Death solves all problem, no man no problem...right? *shivers*
3. Poligamy is good. If one girl is not enough, have two to eight. If that still doesn't satisfy you, get a bespectacled boy to cross-dress as a girl and put him into the mix as well.
4. Always go after the mentally unstable big-chested book-worm girl then break her; who knows? maybe she'll visit you one day with a wood saw to help you renovate.
5. Nice boat is Nice boat.
damn, those are good story morals...
Oh, Lilly doesn't suck. She's just overrated

I should choose my words more carefully thenMegumeru wrote:Oh, Lilly doesn't suck. She's just overrated
I did learn to be more open mined about games like KS ... what i mean is i thought KS was just gonna be Cripple porn for ppl who are turned on by that ... just like Kana Little Sister was gonna be a incest hentai game ... was i wrong on both accounts with out KS i would have never gave KLS a try
Re: Lessons Learned from KS
I guess i say i learned white knighting causes more problems than it solved.
Also that even with events that change one's outlook on the world, still its possible to find love.

Learned to have greater empathy and respect for the disabled.
Also that it really takes a lot for someone's life to be truly destroyed, even the crippled can live happy and fulfilled lives.

I learned that some of the most insightful people are the ones that have been through hell and back whether it be because of their past or because of their disability.

Life should give you experience. I feel sorry for those who've had to experience too much too soon.AdventSign wrote:I learned that some of the most insightful people are the ones that have been through hell and back whether it be because of their past or because of their disability.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

I learned that a story can make me cry, and that it's not a bad thing. I hadn't cried for anything less than death since I was a small boy.
I learned that the visual novel medium was a thing that existed. I'm really grateful pure chance lead me to it to download KS, and that I didn't have any preconceived notions about the genre.

Anything you learned from this game
I learned that i'm more caring and less dense then i thought. I got Hanako's route because i liked how she looked out of all the girls. It never occured in my mind to protect her like glass. I just treated her like a regular person and once i got to the end I realized how strong she is. I could never get the bad ending unless i do it on purpose because those descions are completely the oposite i would pick.
