Now, I understand that prequels generally aren't released, you know, during the production of the original work. I'm lazy and I have writers block, but I feel like an ass for not updating my other story, Lover's Gasp / Lover's Grasp regularly. So here I'm going to collate my work. Series will be moved into their own threads, while smaller oneshots (of which I have around 8 planned and partially written) will be kept in this thread.
For new readers: most of my work revolves around Rin and Hisao.

Re: Storytime with MintySocks
Day Zero, Year Zero:
I sit on my suitcase outside the walls of Yamaku, admiring the patterns on the cobblestone and concrete- lines of cracked cement intersecting with chunks of rock, weaving in and out of the shadows cast by the mid-day sun. I trace the shadows, lines and circles ebb and flow around the little rocks as I imagine the rocks are some island, some place and the shadows are the water
“Rin?”
I can see Hisao carrying his suitcase as he approaches me except, well, he's not really carrying the suitcase with him. I mean, he's pulling it? But there are wheels on it, so not really. He's not rolling it. It's not a wheel. Dragging would imply that he's fighting against the suitcase and I guess you could wait he's here I shake a stump at him and give him a little smile. “Hello, Hisao.”
Hisao stops to take a few deep breaths before joining me well, not technically. He's beside me on his suitcase. “Sorry about that. Did I make you wait?”
I shake my head. “No, I got here a few minutes ago. I mean, my parents said they'd be here at two-thirty, and I left at two. So I should be early since it's not like I got lost I mean I don't think I stopped on the way here.”
He checks his watch I wonder if I could wear a watch? It would be handy but where would it go? with a worried look on his face, but the worry vanishes after a moment. “I wouldn't be too concerned. It's two twenty-seven, and besides, I don't think your parents would just drive off if they got here early.”
I nod, then stand up and give him a hug. Well more specifically I am just sort of leaning into him and I am moving my stumps in a way that would be a hug if I had arms and we do nothing for a minute or two. Eventually he gets tired of smelling me andholding me for the moment anyways. “Are you sure you want to visit my family? We're pretty boring. And I will probably be doing a lot of painting. For me. Also for you, Hisao, but that can wait. Not in public. That is a special thing. Just for you.”
Hisao frowns. “Are you kidding? What would I do back home? Who would I hang out with?” He stops to stretch. “And I didn't keep in contact any of my old friends. Besides, I'll fine. I'll just watch you paint, maybe even peel you some oranges Oooooh, oranges so you don't have to. As long as we're close I'm pretty sure I'll be alright.”
“Well, isn't that wonderful? Looks to me like my Rin found herself quite the gentleman! Oh look it's mom.”
My mother appears to have snuck up behind us somehow. I shake a stump at her too. “Hullo mom! This is Hisao. Hisao, this is my mom.”
“Nice to meet you, Miss Tezuka.” Hisao is doing his best not to turn a very deep shade of red.
“It's nice to meet you too. My husband couldn't find anywhere to park nearby, so he's just I'm not listening because she is talking to Hisao and I think that would be a really cool idea, the shadows are the water and the moonlight, well you can see it reflected off the water but it's a different reflection so it's like a mirror but the mirror isn't actually a mirror, it's just glass. But the glass is like, not glass. Because it's a shadow.”
Soon we are sitting in the back of my parents' car, and Hisao is talking to my dad and they are laughing. Everyone is laughing, except me. Because I am tired, and I am going to sleep on Hisao.

Re: Storytime with MintySocks
At times it almost felt like you were going a little overboard with the "Rinicisms," but it makes sense when we're in her point of view, since most of them aren't coming out of her mouth anyway. The way they were crammed into the relevant passages with only different font to distinguish them seemed a little awkward.
That aside, it's a shame that this is a one-shot; not many people really give takes on Rin's personality. I can honestly say I liked it though.

Very good story, just curious
My mother appears to have snuck up behind us somehow. I shake a stump at her too. “Hullo mom! This is Hisao. Hisao, this is my mom." is that hullo intentional? or is it an error?

Streak as in streaking by at the speed of light.

That would just be odd >.>

I wouldn't put Rin's thoughts within the quotation markls of other people's speech. It's just confusing and not really something that Rin could achieve even by being at her spaciest^^°
Also, "Miss" is usually used to adress unmarried women, which Mrs Tezuka clearly isn't.

I always love a Rin fanfic that doesn't end with either her or Hisao dying or already dead.

Agreed.
Good story by the way.
