Aye, death is a hard disability to cope with, few can live it down.newnar wrote:Somebody just kill me. I'd rather be dead. Does being dead count as a disability? Well I'm denied the ability to live.
Which disability would you want?

I love the way, there's a meme for every occasion.
I cosidered using http://dobrochan.ru/src/jpg/1111/not-su ... stupid.jpg - this one, but... it would be offensive.

Honestly? None.
If I HAD to choose, I'd go with Hanako's disability. Burn scars are painful and not attractive, but at least everything functions and nothing is missing. That and chicks dig scars.

Not so sure they'd like a scar that covers half your face.Bigbishounen wrote:That and chicks dig scars.
A bit extreme but you get the idea.
Edit: Better example

Don't complain; use your imagination and think of this scar covering nearly half her face. I'm not gonna spend hours googling over something like this.newnar wrote:That's hardly half the face.

Yeah, I don't think Two-face is really a good example. For starters, if I remember my Batman canon, those are Acid burns, not fire burns. Secondly, that's WAY more extreme than what Hanako has.
Ok, that second picture is probably more like it, but I doubt the scars would be that red. Actually, the "purple-ness" of Hanako's scars is not entirely realistic either. Burn scar tissue on fair skinned people tends to be pink, and eventually fades to somewhat "peach" colored. I know, I have a female friend that was in a bad car accident as a child and not only has operation scars, but burn and skin graft scars as well, some on her face. She is happily married to a great guy, so burn scars aren't as "crippling" as one might think, even in our overly-appearance-oriented society.

You'd rather CEASE TO EXIST than to lose anything you've currently got?newnar wrote:Somebody just kill me. I'd rather be dead. Does being dead count as a disability? Well I'm denied the ability to live.

newnar seems to be a very "all or nothing" kind of person. At least going by that quote anyway.Paddy wrote:You'd rather CEASE TO EXIST than to lose anything you've currently got?newnar wrote:Somebody just kill me. I'd rather be dead. I don't see how those are any different from each other. Technically your life is sth you "got" as well.Paddy wrote:You'd rather CEASE TO EXIST than to lose anything you've currently got?newnar wrote:Somebody just kill me. I'd rather be dead. Oh. I catch ya. (Or maybe I don't.)
Nothing of "ours" is our own. All of it is borrowed. Even our limbs. Even our lives. All is God's, for God made all, and for all we depend on Him. So it's no great loss to lose a limb. And no great loss to die. So long as we die knowing what we "lost" was never really ours to begin with.
Is that what you mean?

Who's God? I'm just saying that Paddy's reply makes no sense since the "rather...or..." essentially has identical ideas on both sides. I just think that losing certain things in life and continue living can be worse than simply not living altogether. And Yes, I am a coward. A bloody coward. I run away from things. I cannot find enough incentive to not take such evasive action.Paden wrote:newnar wrote:I don't see how those are any different from each other. Ahem. The word "certain". Sadly I can't handle life as well as I do with computers. So my threshold for real life is much lower.
