Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
So far, I've done the root of the timeline, it's rather ugly and I'm not really happy with it. I'll have to play the game a few more times to understand what happens when. Especially reguarding Emi's arc, where you don't really hear of any other characters. I don't really know if Emi's arc finished before or after Lilly's trip to scotland, for an example.
What is sure right now to me is that :
Hanako is the arc that finishes first, during Lilly's trip to scotland
Rin's arc finishes after Lilly's trip, but before Tanabata.
Lilly's good ending is after Tanabata
Shizune's ending is far after Tanabata
I don't know if I should put the mid-term exams in there. If I do, then it will separate greatly Rin's and Emi's arc.
Anyway, I'll be working on something prettier to see. An Excel timeline isn't the best thing in the world.

Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
I do a lot of flowchart work in Visio for my job, I thought I'd give making a chart a spin in Visio after seeing yours. Took me a few days of playing and revising but I have a draft of the first act done:
Part 1 Main https://s3.amazonaws.com/zerosubspace/m ... 1+Main.png
Part 1 Subsections A-B-C (Shizune/Misha, Rin, and Lily) https://s3.amazonaws.com/zerosubspace/m ... -A-B-C.png
Part 1 Subsections D-E (Emi, and Kenji) https://s3.amazonaws.com/zerosubspace/m ... +1-D-E.png
I tried to expand the detail a bit to make it more specific, I started to add scene names in the beginning but forgot to keep going, dunno if I'll keep those in or not. I'm also not 100% sure if I got all of the details in there, I played through Act 1 several dozen times to make sure I wasn't missing anything or missing any flags/data points, but feel free to mention any irregularities. It was quite late.
Thanks for the chart though, it helped me understand the flags a little better as well as grab a scene I missed in Hanako's route.

You can use this flowchart as a reference for Act 1. The information herein is definitely correct.

Your flowchart is definitively more complete than mine, but I find it rather confusing. However, it's maybe just me. I made mine to be as simple as possible, I thought about adding the name of every scenes at one point, but I got scared about how much of work that would require and how messy it would look.larryhuffman wrote:I do a lot of flowchart work in Visio for my job, I thought I'd give making a chart a spin in Visio after seeing yours. To all who took the time and trouble to advice the route's flowchart; thank you! I managed to get "Slow Recovery" and "Badaan" scene from this thread (one that prevented 100% completion on my side!)

Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
Thanks, I tried to kind of detail what happens in each scene a little to give the player an idea of what they'd be doing in case it might be relevant to them, also because I honestly did not pay attention to the scene titles until I found the library function, so I was running purely on what I saw on screen. I will probably clean it up over time and consolidate down a bit.Feuver wrote:

Probably the most confusing part is the "Training Flag" thing. In my previous versions I tried to form the chart around it, and then as I played through for the billionth time I found out you could skip that entirely (Why didn't I answer "Maybe" before? Heh.)
Eventually I am going to push the PNGs into PS and arrange them to look better as one whole sheet. That might help.

Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
So, this may be an obvious question... But, on your flowcharts (awesome job, btw), what is the difference between a solid line, and a line with an arrow at the end? Thanks.
Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
There's none really, it's just to show all things are related. I suppose I should get to fix that too.KAC0599 wrote:So, this may be an obvious question... But, on your flowcharts (awesome job, btw), what is the difference between a solid line, and a line with an arrow at the end? Thanks.
Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
Nice work man. It's interesting to find out why I died the first two times I played Act 1.
Lilly path > Hanako path >>>> Shizune path > Emi path > Rin path.
My most heart wrenching moment...Misha getting a haircut.

Great work on these charts!
I wanted to get all the good endings before I started poking around for neutral/bad endings so these charts really helped me out without
really spoiling anything (big thumbs up for that, btw).
Also it helped me immensely to figure out how to start some of the girl's routes from Act 1 without spending some extra hours experimenting. First time I just clicked around on what I thought made fairly
sense and ended up with Emi at random.
Thanks again!

- Emi = Completed
- Lilly = Completed
- Hanako = Currently playing
- Shizune = Up after Hanako

Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
I have just followed the flowchart and I chose only one Shizune choice (Why?, Ask about deafness, Attack) and no Hanako/Lilly choices. In Lunch Evolution Theory I didn't have any choices as expected, but after Short Sharp Shock it went directly to It Builds Character, instead of Detour Ahead... hmmmMirage_GSM wrote:You can use this flowchart as a reference for Act 1. P.S.: Ah, I see the choices before Lunch Evolution Theory don't count for the points, ok.

Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
The coorect choices for Shizune are "Yes, of course", "I think I've got everything" and "Attack aggressively", as is shown in the graph I linked. If you answered like you did, you won't get the option to wait for Shizune and Misha in LET.pedrosorio wrote:I have just followed the flowchart and I chose only one Shizune choice (Why?, Ask about deafness, Attack) and no Hanako/Lilly choices. Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
I think you should mention that several scenes in Shizune's route have different dialog depending on the choices made in Act 1. Specifically, each time they mention seeing Hisao's room or not, it changes whether you did Slow Recovery or Home Field Advantage.
I think the scenes that differ are Force Feeding, Cornered (1st H Scene), and one other one later on.

Re: Katawa Shoujo full flowchart
Considering it's only a few dialogue changes, it doesn't change that the flowchart is to show how to get each endings. I suppose that if other problems comes up, then I'll make sure to add a bubble to reflect on that. Thanks for the feedback.Notguest wrote:I think you should mention that several scenes in Shizune's route have different dialog depending on the choices made in Act 1.
