Katawa Shoujo Will be Released on January 4th, 2012

Just wanted to pop in and give an overwhelming thank you and congratulations to the Four Leaf Studios team. Act 1 of Katawa Shoujo was the first VN I had picked up, and even though I've played plenty more since then, Katawa Shoujo has always been at the top of my list for most enjoyable VNs. From the premise to the artwork, the music and the characters and everything in between, it was and will undoubtedly continue to be an excellent game.

But most importantly, Katawa Shoujo is a shining example of what a group of incredibly talented and tenacious individuals can accomplish despite borders, timezones and possible language barriers. Say what you want about the Internet, but sometimes it can be a pretty amazing thing.

In order to avoid a wall of text, I'll leave this off with another heartfelt thank you. Great games are something we can all appreciate, and this community's collective words cannot truly express our gratitude to Four Leaf Studios.

even though for me it was a 2 year wait, but still worth it. though i did fail. couldnt get proper sleep and woke up at 4AM. went to bed just after the countdown (the torrents werent up yet). 15 mins later links are up. i was lying in my bed. AND THE LINKS WERE UP. goddamit.

oh, and the love scenes were really delicate.. not too "over the top" like other games, just perfect..

Tore through Hanako's path in about 3-4 hours, got the good ending.

I don't really know what I can say that will be any more appraising of the obvious levels of love, care and utter dedication that have gone into this game. It genuinely feels very special to play this game, in the knowledge that it was made simply to tell the stories of these wonderful characters.

To all the members of 4LS, I would like to say thank you for telling these stories to us, and that you deserve all the credit in the world for achieving such a tremendous goal, even if it took 5 years. I wish all of you the best of luck in whatever you do in the future, and that your work on this title will not go unrecognised by the wider gaming community.

Huh, this was supposed to be a good day...but then I got less than 5 hours of sleep, can't direct download, don't trust torrent downloading, and I lost my wallet to a Cold Stone Ice Cream store when they really should have it.

Anybody have any idea when the direct download will start working again?

Torrents are really quite safe if they are created by a trusted source.
I for one trust Delta not to put any viruses in.
