That sucks. I'd have thought translation teams would get the finalised script when it was... Well, finalised. At least it'd cut the time gap between translation and game release shorter.

Even if we did, we probably wouldn't start translating immediately anyway. We want to experience KS as a visual novel like everyone else who has waited for so long - not as a dozen txt-files with cryptic Renpy-code between the lines of dialogue...

How do you think you are going to estimate the download count? Torrents are going to come up quickly to help spread it around faster, and i'm assuming you can tell apart unique downloads. Also, I'd buy that shit.

Technically, all of the translations are fan projects. The devs have given them their blessing, and maybe a tiny bit of support, but as I understand it, they are largely on their own.

I hope sometime in 2012, after most of the dust settles, we can see some retrospective posts from most of the devs. (I'm a sucker for any kind of "Making of" documentaries and I love what glimpses into the process we've seen already.)

When you think about it, the story of KS would make an interesting long article, short book or even documentary film. You have a creative team distributed across the planet with different nations, time zones and languages involved. It seems so unlikely a project like yours could survive and create for this long...but it did and I'm sure glad.

And then we'd almost definitely see KS scripts pop up on the internet. Not to diss any of the translation groups, but all it takes is ONE person (see Hollywood movies). Upload something online once and it will be everywhere.
