Actually, hanako's eye placement is correct. when a person closes their eyes, their top eye lid comes down, not the other way around. Some people though make corrections and raise the position of the closed eye relative to the open eye to balance out the face, but this is incorrect, and wrong human anatomy. With smaller eyes this is not much of a problem, but with such style of drawing with big eyes, it can't help looking a little off, but the picture is correct on the eye placement.
