Top 200! That's just amazing. Congrats to all who helped get us here!
It's a good thing Shizune is deaf, she is the only one who can stand (not) hearing "Wahaha~!" over and over.

Out of curiosity, does anyone here run F@H on a MacBook Pro? And please don't get all "omg apple loser" on me.

I tried running it a few months ago, but it caused the whole laptop to get uncomfortably hot. Any ideas on how to limit it so that this doesn't happen?

Do you keep the laptop open? Some models lose a lot of heat through the keyboard.

Laptops arn't designed to be used with that much intensity, the cpu creates waste heat for every calculation so you could try limiting the % used, it's an option somewhere.

For anyone using the GPU client:
There's been an issue with a new core that needs some new dll-files to process correctly.
The files can be found here.

Not too bad; not bad at all.

2xGPU clients (GTX 465/GTS 250); 2xCPU clients

We're pretty stable at around 80K PPD right now, so you tell me when exactly KS will come out and I'll tell you how much point's we'lll have then.
If you're talking about ranking, we're also pretty stable right now. we're still gaining 1-2 ranks a month, so probably around 180.
Of course all that is if Samophlange doesn't start contributing again. He was responsible for about 40% of our turnout...

Minecraft seems to be doing a number on my folding clients. Has anyone else had a similar issue with the game? If so, how did you resolve it?

Try putting the laptop on a pair of pedestals so that air can flow underneath as well as over it.

Probably by doing bigadv work units with the SMP client. I haven't gotten big units up and running on my system yet, but here are copy/pasted instructions a friend sent me (you need a powerful computer):

Hokay, Here's what we do. First, ditch the basic client, wave it
goodbye! Secondly, request a passkey for your username:
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py Thirdly, stop the
smp client and delete everything associated with it except for the
Folding@home.exe file. after you have done this you need to run the
client with the -configonly flag which is entered from a command
prompt and will look like this: Folding@home6.23.exe -configonly.
when doing this enter your username, Passkey that you will recieve
from stanford, and team number. When it asks if you want to change
advanced options say yes. Leave everything as it is till they ask
what size Work Units you want to receive select big. leave all other
options alone. once you are back to the command prompt enter the
following Folding@home6.23.exe -bigadv -smp 7 -verbosity 9. This will
start getting you what are called big Work units, on my 860 I get
about 18,000 ppd on them. They take just over 3 days to fold. Now
the reason they are worth so many points is the bonus system. To get
qualified for the bonus faster right click on your GPU client and
bring up the configuration window for it. There is a spot for a
passkey, go ahead and and enter your passkey from stanford, you need
to complete 10 work units with the passkey to get the bonus points.

In case you haven't noticed, I've gotten my stuff back up, running on 2x 9800gt and 1x 5870m and 1x PS3. I also have access to a linux server with an octocore Xeon @ 3.16ghz and 32GB RAM, but afaik the Linux client is unstable...

2600k 4.5GHz bigadv folder, occasionally an additional 860 2.8GHz smp folder.

I've been running the linux SMP core since '09 and have to say it would not be a good plan to try it on a production server.
I get many months of stable 24/7 operation, but very occasionally it flakes out and drops the machine.
I can imagine the hilarity that would ensue as the financial database took a shit at around noon on a payday because some joker was running F@H on it.
However, if this server is not critical in any way (and you own it, not your employer) then I would say go for it. Just keep an eye on it.

Welcome back Kota...
Hey, wasn't that a TV show? :)
