Just a few orthography things here and there,

Thanks for pointing these out, corrected the ones that were clear mistakes. Though I will say there's some I disagree with. Aside from that, I did want to say that while "There're" is more grammatically correct, it is a significantly less common word to use. "There's" is not technically grammatically correct, but it is much more commonly used for the same purpose.

other than that, great chapter as always! I'm glad it didn't take half of Act 1 for these two to talk; going straight for the band-aid. Excited to see the rest!

Glad you're enjoying! And yeah, I didn't want the first confrontation to take all that long. And though Mai not being in class for Hisao's first day would be a convenient excuse to start a series of near-misses (which would be a little funny), that's not what was best for them lol.

I like how you wrote Nurse in this one-- I can't wait for when he gets named Yamaku's Smoothest Operator later on in the story. That's definitely a scene, right?

Gotta admit, I'm not sure what this is referencing. Will say that Nurse is a really enjoyable character to write. He can certainly act as the slap in the face some of these kids need while still being fun and reliable.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about Chapter 2's release date. If anything, slating it for mid-December means that if you do find yourself behind, you'll have plenty of excu-- I mean, ways to redefine the eventual release date! Maybe it was meant to be a late Christmas gift, or an early New Year's present... the possibilities are endless!!!

And should it be pushed to around Mid-January, it'll just be my birthday celebration :D Glad you're liking it so far and excited to see how you react to what's to come!

Another brilliant chapter! It's super interesting to have Mai and Hisao have to directly confront their past at the same time as their own mortality. Should make for an interesting dynamic and I can imagine the extended cast making things more awkward once they find out the connection.

It's not referencing anything, actually! It's just a made-up title for the smoothest person in Yamaku, which I think Nurse would win.
Now I feel like I have to make that a thing, so that my earlier message actually points toward something...

Glad you enjoyed it! Hisao and Mai definitely have a lot on their plates right now. And yeah, As Mai mentioned at the end of Scene 1, it won't be long before everyone knows that she and "the new guy" have a connection...

I'll always encourage people to give writing a shot of they're interested! As for Nurse, he certainly believes himself to be rather smooth lol.

Escapism is not the best strategy to survive. Funnily enough, this time Mai and Hisao needs to learn it at the same time, given the timeline.

Thanks for the update, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter!
