Due to the nature of Yamaku, gym classes give the students a variety of options for the day.

Lilly prefers to avoid taking part in any sports (yes, there are specific sports designed for the blind) and prefers a nice leisurely ride of the exercise bikes.

Shizune does not like "unnecessary" physical activities. She sees sports and exercise as a waste of time and effort (and sometimes just plain barbaric.) She frequently gets into arguments with the gym teacher and does as little as possible. She's more likely to skip this class than any other for "Student council work." It's also the one class where Misha is actually getting better grades than she is. (Grades are based on participation and Misha enjoys playing games. She sucks at them, but it's fun fun fun!)

Rin is encourages to just walk track or run, although she tends to try to join the rest of the class at sports, she's usually not good at it for obvious reasons.

Hanako doesn't change in the locker rooms with everyone else. She hides in the bathroom stalls and changes there. She always wears the winter sweats uniform and never takes part in team sports.

The teachers try to get Emi to take part in more group activities, but she prefers to just use the time to run track.

Truth is stranger than fiction. More than a year after I 'invented' a name for Nurse, 'Goro Kaneshiro', I have just discovered that there's a Dr Kaneshiro practising on the US West Coast who is a paediatrician specialising in congenital and acquired limb deformities.

Really? Shizune disliking competition? (Though I could see her avoiding it as an inescapable time-sink because she gets too into it.)

Natsume only wears socks when she sleeps. It's not a sexual thing, it's just how she's most comfortable. Also her feet get cold easily.

Emi used to worry that she'd wake up in the middle of the night and really really have to go to the bathroom but wouldn't have time to get her legs on.

The dorm bathrooms have showers in them but on the first floor of each building there's a room that actually contains bathtubs for people that have difficulty standing. Like the elevators, there's only supposed to be used by those that really need them.
