EDIT:
Okay, tried it out. Loved it! Very much looking forward to a full game like this.
Some things:
-I liked the womanly picnic easter egg, that was clever. If more stuff like that is in the final product, then it will be fun to explore and look for.
-Controls were simple overall, nice.
-Sometimes the girls would look to the side and not straight ahead... was that intentional? I could see that being Rin's default.
-I like how Lilly opened/closed her eyes periodically.
-Nice models.
-Emi has a running animation! I got a kick out of that one. Also, for the first time ever in full 3D, I got to play as her. Cool beans.
-I created my own crowning moment of heartwarming by spending 20 minutes as Hanako guiding Lilly through the obstacle course to the final block. That jump at the end is hard!
-Speaking of which, Lillyvision is interesting... might be one of the better attempts to show how much of a pain getting around without sight can be even in its unfinished state. I got better at it as time went on though, so it also demonstrated how you might just get used to it if you're born that way.
I can't find the sexy scene, but I'll return soon and try to look for it.
The actual game will be much more of a simulation; I might have a more "adult" version, but I want the main game to be for all ages.
I need to add code and controls to pick up, put down, and use objects, and to wear things like hats, and for Emi to change her legs, etc.
For this test, the girls just do slight random expression changes, just to see how it looks. Real code will have their expressions change depending on what's happening, looking at items they pick up, etc.
Emi's animation isn't running, it's her normal walk. I looked at youtube videos, and bilateral below-knee amputees often walk like most people walk uphill -- pumping their arms more, and putting more weight on each leg; they need 10-40% more energy to walk. I'l give her a bouncier walk when she's wearing her running blades, and add walk/run modes for all the girls (except Lilly won't run much faster).
Lillyvision is probably what I'll work on next -- grays will be different textures, not just B&W versions of color, her feet and cane will show small areas, and you'll be able to use her hands to feel around. Sounds will show colored noise lines, hot and cold will be reds and blues, wind will be shown, music will show notes, and so on.
