She's baring herself to someone that she's not even sure loves her, that she barely knows, when it's so incredibly painful for her to let others even see her face. Basically, she's fighting her way through a DEFCON 1 panic attack, because she feels that she needs to do this to prove to Hisao AND herself that she can be his girlfriend. (She's mistaken I think, but then, her first time with Hisao was always going to be a DEFCON 1 panic attack, and this gets it out of the way.) And, because the channels of communication aren't set up yet, she doesn't even begin to feel comfortable with communicating what her sexual preferences are to Hisao. To expand: Many people come to me in my life with philosophical, romantic, or psychological questions which I try my best to answer (no wonder I'm thinking about going into school psychology) so I've started to change my speech patterns unconsciously to answer questions that may pop up while I'm answering the current one. Anyways, comparing the crusades (essentially a holy war) to the Waifu Wars/Favorite character spats that often happen? I suppose I did, in a way. The point was not the analogy of the fighting and dying, but the fact that the two became so easily polarized when a fight was started between two identifiable factions. I could start quoting fighting comments as well, but you seem to have been around long enough to view them. That's part of why I included both derogatory and neutral names in my factions reply, because it would mean standardization of terms, making it easier for new community members to identify a side, and thus join in the fray or, as I, and assumably you, hoped, keep them out of the silly fight because they realized there was one before they got involved.*Sign* This always happens when I talk.
