Well, no. But for jumping to that conclusion and the "Well, you guys probably hate me, I better shut up now" (paraphrase) pity-mongering, you are seen as pretty silly.Kibaro wrote:i'm probably seen like a douchebag now anyway, don't want to make it worse...

I love the interpretation of Pac-Man where he's a just a lowly worker retrieving golf balls left all over the course by the rich masters and the ghosts are all previous workers who got conked on the head and killed by incoming golf balls in the line of duty.

I gave up on this 'debate' (as you wish to call it) the moment I saw this
Thing is, most people who care about you will pick up on the small hints that you give them. They try to understand you. That is what it means to have friends and family.
How about we do the "Does Rin have something in the autism spectrum" debate. At least that can be interesting.
This is pretty pointless. These points I am reading are truly remarkable (in a negative sense). This is really retarded. Kudos for Coffeedriver for trying.Kibaro wrote: it's ok, it's just my point of view, and also being able to care but not being able to show it, for most people means you dont care...what's the point in caring if others can't even see that (you're the only one who knows that and despite that being good, it doesn't help in social life does it?)

Indeed. I dont believe she is autustic, but she definetly has Alexthymia, for example.Forever_ambivalent wrote: How about we do the "Does Rin have something in the autism spectrum" debate. At least that can be interesting.

I wouldn't put money on her being autistic but there's a definite emotional difficulty in play, yeah. I just never knew the term.CoffeeDrive wrote:Indeed. Ehhh... If you ask me, I'd say she does have autism.
It's never confirmed or denied in canon, to my knowledge, but in my headcanon she is Autistic.
I have no real ground-breaking indication to lead me to believe such, as much as it's just down to "That's the impression I got from her". She seems quite introverted and emotionally blind, but in such a way that it immediately reminded me of my friend and other Autistic people I've gotten to know over the years.

As somebody with hilariously minor autism, (so close to not having it at all that it might as well not be there) I have to agree.Munchenhausen wrote:Ehhh... If you ask me, I'd say she does have autism.

Just for shits and giggles, here's another angle.
Ahem.
Rin might have particular difficulty parenting once things come to the stage of rebellion. Up till then, it's either pre-verbal (perfect!) or adoring + basic temperamental (easy!). After that point, though, for someone who has difficulty communicating, it becomes exponentially more difficult to convince a half-rational person to lean towards obedience. Just imagine Rin trying to be forceful and disciplining with anyone, much less a tween screaming at her. Add to that the differential in physical capability (assuming a physically typical child — complete limbs and such) and you've got a recipe for trouble. At that point Hisao would become a crucial ingredient and probably end up shouldering most of the burden.
Interestingly, I think this would be more or less inverted with Lilly: she'd have much more trouble early on, but be able to handle an emotionally bellicose little shit with unflappably deft aplomb.

Even the autism part ( although I reduced the problems to that to point)
Rin has quite a few autistic traits.

Solution for Rin is to just raise a stoner. Or yeah, pawn off a lot of the responsibility on either a sitter (Emi) or Hisao. He'd be better off with Lilly in that case.

Re: Daddy? Why Doesn't Mommy Have Arms?
I'd have to agree. I've known several autistic people in my life, (my little brother included) and while every case is different, she does seem to show signs that could put her on the spectrum, and I don't really believe it to be simply a quirky personality. But other than reading article upon article on this spectrum disorder, I'm no specialist, so I'll keep it as a headconon as well for the time being.Munchenhausen wrote:Ehhh... Rin doesn't need pot. She gets high on art. And nub-jobs from Hisao.

Doesn't "giving a _____-job" imply one is imparting sexual pleasure to another with one's _____(s)? So… Hisao giving a nub-job… hmm…brythain wrote:Rin has nubs. Or armbits, if you like that sort of thing.KeiichiO wrote:I am confused, and intrigued.someguy1294 wrote:And nub-jobs from Hisao.
