The studio name is a reference to the birthplace of KS project, 4chan aka Yotsuba (4 Leaves) Channel.

I am one of the few who actually did come from 4chan. I can pretty much guarantee that "circle of friends" is not how I would describe the early days of the project. Mostly I would describe it as "a bunch of assholes," myself very much included. By the time we got on these current forums we'd become a much smaller group, but we still dropped at least four or five more folk before we arrived at the final team.

First, "circle of friends from 4chan" is just plain wrong. I, for one, got wind of KS from Mirrormoon and met the rest of the developers for the first time on these forums (and IRC, if you want to be technical about it). I'll let the others speak for themselves if they want, but I know that at least some would tell a similar story.

I wouldn't describe us as a "circle of friends from 4chan" either.

I would like to correct everyone who says KS was "made by 4chan", but it'd be such a waste of time.

I don't know if the board for Katawa Shoujo still exists (it might just be a general thread).

I can confirm it was no separate board, but rather two separate General Threads on two different boards; /ksg/ on the 'Videogame Generals' board and until recently KS/b/ on the 'Random' board.

Personally, I came to find Katawa Shoujo from the KS/b/ lot. Decent blokes, if you can ever get them on topic.

Also, Anonymous isn't always referencing 4chan it could be any other imageboard
