I wanted to share this beautiful piece of writing with you all, but couldn't find it posted on these forums, nor do I know who wrote it. It was originally an Anonymous post on 4chan, I believe.

Well, you can guess from other people's reactions how I reacted to this. I'm not sure that the first part fazed me as much as it should have, but the end definitely, well... wow.

This also brought up another interesting idea regarding Hisao, but I suppose that that's a tad off-topic.

9/10 would feel again.

Not a fan, to be completely honest. I've never really bought into the whole "Hanako being in love with Hisao during Lilly's route" idea, and the concept just seems kinda overdone. It cheapens the feels.

Why not? Hanako's route hints that Hanako developed a crush on Hisao rather quickly after meeting him. It wouldn't be too far-fetched that the same factors that caused that crush in her own route also resulted in her developing SOME feelings for Hisao in Lilly's route since both routes have plenty of overlapping factors...the only thing dampening them being Hisao showing less of an active interest in her and more of an active interest in her best friend. That doesn't mean Hanako's completely heart-broken when Hisao goes for Lilly...she probably expected it to happen at some point.

I don't usually follow links to external fics, but since this one is quite short, and the feedback was so positive I made an exception.
The first thing I noticed was:

She screamed in agony until the heat had burnt her throat shut.

That? In a confession letter? I get that Hanako is a bit of a social inept, but there's a limit to everything^^°
There are also a few technical problems like her still adressing Hisao directly even after finishing the letter. This is a bit confusing and I had to read the last bit twice to get that she wasn't writing a postscript...

I have no problems with the fact that Hanako developed a crush on Hisao in Lilly's route. In fact I think it's very likely that she did. It's more that the letter itself doesn't read like it comes from Hanako - and of course the timing has been chosen for maximum drama...

So overall not terrible but kind of meh.

I might have misspoke a little. I can buy into it being a crush; that is one of the bases of Developments and numerous other works. But falling head over heels for him and confiding in him the secrets that she has never, ever told anyone else before? Even in her own route, she did not do that until the very end. I more or less share Mirage's thoughts, in regards to this not sounding very much like something Hanako would write.

And of course, I'm not a fan of melodrama.
