I kinda stopped reading once you said you hadn't done Rins route so i could cyber hate on you abit but it seems you've found the way. Best of luck w/ it, It was for sure my favorite.
By the way, I absolutely adore the picture of Rin you use in your posts. Is it from her route?
It's an old pic I edited a ton to fit the strange requirements of the forums avatar system, couldn't say where I found it though.

I really like Rin's smile. You don't see it much.

You actually see it quite a bit in her route. Mostly in act one though, before shit goes bad...

Huh, interesting. I think when I played I only saw like, one very brief glimpse at a subtle grin from her. It was a very nice Rin grin.

Yes, Rin is definitely worth the play through. Her route made me feel the most conflicted, I guess is the proper word to describe it.

I will admit, Rin's route can be frustrating and depressing... that said, it is still my favorite route in the game.

Rin appeals to me on many levels: she's unique, honest and bold. Now, seeing as how this is Katawa Shoujo, the game is naturally geared to take everything that appeals to you about a character and make you hate the character for the exact same reasons. Thus, the more you initially like Rin and are attached to her, the more frustrating this route will be. And, in the end, the more satisfying. I think one of the things that appeals to me about Rin is that unlike Emi, she doesn't try to hide her feelings. She tries to express them, but lacks the eloquence to do so properly, and that is the essence of her struggle.

Rin's route is the most complex, and some people call it the most difficult, but there are only two choices that have the potential to destroy you, and if you pay attention to Rin's character
specifically, her inability to explain things
you should be able to figure out the right choice to make.

Rin's route had to be my favorite playthrough for that very reason.

If you're looking for a typical romance story, no. Rin's route is the last thing that would be worth it then - you're better off with Lilly or such.

If you're genuinely open to anything that might happen, don't expect anything in particular or think anything specific should happen within it - yes. Rin's route is certainly worth it.

And if you feel isolated from every other person in this world...it's probably a must-read as far as ALL of its endings are concerned, not just the good one.

Is it just me, or does Rin look a lot cuter in her CGs than in her sprites? She doesn't even come off like a girl to me except in the CGs.
NB: none of the above is a request

I'll admit that Rin does look quite a bit cuter in her CG's, mostly because you get a closer look at her face, but even her sprites, she still has a distinct bust.

Hisao actually mentions that Rin isn't particularly cute, aside from her nose... which makes me want to slap him.

That can be said of every character, I think. CGs in general get a lot more detail and little touches than the sprites in VNs, just like cutscenes always looks more impressive than in-game graphics in other games (though that particular divide is ever-shrinking, and it's awesome). I mean, if the CGs just looked like they threw the regular sprites onto backgrounds, it'd look pretty bad.
