Yup. Image

Anyway, to go back on topic.. I can name quite a few, but the tears didn't flow immediately for me. It was usually after finishing a route or scene that it would all hit me and I would break down, in particular Hanako's good end and pretty much all of Lilly's act 4. God I was out of commission for weeks after that one.

Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of "Hisao being a dick"!
It's a 500 part series.

Honestly, I don't think Hisao's a dick.

Just... kind of an idiot.

Hey guy's,

This is my first post here as I just discovered KS, kinda sad I didn't discover it back in the hay day...but that's ok.
I had no idea what to expect on playing it and did not really know any back story behind it, I just happened to stumble upon it on reddit one day in a must have free games section...so...

Anyways thought I'd share my observations as I'm into my second play through.

First was Emi's good route.

I didn't cry, lol but there were many feels along the way...it's kind of interesting how just a simple story can have an impact on you, and to be honest I really was kind of surprised how it sucked you in. These are just a few of the parts that spring to mind.
[*]when you think Emi might be cheating on you with the track captain, I was seriously sitting there like WTF.. I thought we had something special..lol and it killed me Hisao was just beating around the bush, I remember thinking "dude just friggin ask her" [*]
This wouldn't be the first or last time Hisao has done something like that and he just frustrates the heck out of me.
There were many more in Emi's route, it pained me to think about her trying to pretend she wasn't hurt. It was a roller coaster that's for sure.

So starting in on Shizune's route, I'm not gonna lie when. I first bumped into Emi and she didn't recognize me it hurt a little knowing how we had been so close, and especially knowing the emotional pain she was going through and hiding, even though she acts really bubbly on the outside.

This route has really left me with mixed emotions I want to really like it, and part of me does love her character. But the fact she is so distant just kinda bothers me...I know that's the kind of character she is portraying and maybe Hisao just has more self control that myself, but after they hook up at her parents house and she basically blows him off for weeks after just really bothered me, I think more so that it didn't really seem to bother Hisao, he just takes it all in his stride.

The part that really surprised me was Misha's confession...I totally did not see that coming..ha

Ok we'll sorry for the long post and I'm sure most wont bother to read my musings but I felt like I just had to get them off my chest..ha

I really wish I could talk to my friends/fam about KS but I fear they would not understand..ha

Reading through some of the posts here, I find it funny that it seems to be all the good endings people cried over.

I'll try to give an accurate description of my feelings during each of the arcs (I have only done Emi, Hanako, and Lilly)

Emi - I didn't particularly feel sad during her plotline. She really hooked me into this game (as my first), because I thought this was gonna be some crappy dating sim. But when I spent hours on this game, and I am at her house with her mother, and the decision pops up, I wasn't sure what to do. As you know if you played Emi's plotline, either way you are kicked out, but since it was my first time, it really caught up to me that I messed up. I heartlessly clicked through to find out the sad ending, only to be overjoyed when I turned out to do the right thing. So my saddest part was probably the scene where he gets kicked out.

Hanako - I originally was aiming for her in the beginning, but I accidentally got into Emi''s. The second time, I got it right though, and I continued it though to heart. Nearing the end, I messed up twice (unknowingly), where you decide to ask her to the town or to relax the rest of the day (When Lilly goes on vacation). I didn't realize I made a bad decision, and when I decided later to ignore Lilly (Which didn't matter what I chose anyways, lol), I was shocked by the ending. I stood a little aghast, for a minute. I rushed to redo the whole thing, freaking out, and even when I got the happy ending, I still didn't feel right inside. I really wasn't fond of her arc, but I was shaky when I got one of the bad endings, and I feel that would be the scene.

Lilly - I figured this time I wouldn't mess up. It seemed simple enough. She seemed totally right for my personality, and I couldn't wait until I won with flying colors.

Except I didn't.

I decided to wave her off at the summerhouse, and even when telling her about the letter, I got the neutral ending. As soon as Akira told me about her returning, I didn't believe she would do it. But once at the Shanghai, I nearly cried. I, naturally, redid everything to win, but it didn't feel right, again. The idea that she would leave, without really discussing their relationship... Well, it tore at me. I think that even though I will go through the effort to try to feel happy again once I get a good ending, my first ending... Well, I can't imagine it any other way anymore. I genuinely hope that I can make it through the Rin and Shizune without screwing them up agian.

Sorry if I am going all emotional on you guys, first time actually posting. I just really want to get my thoughts out, because, like mentioned above, this game isn't really something to be shared with friends.

tl;dr - I feel the bad or neutral endings were the ones that made me tear up the most, not the good endings. And Emi's awesome.

Her "neutral" ending is somehow worse than the bad. Good luck with it.

Rin's will end you.

I'm going through Shizune's route next.
I've just started it and played through most of Act 1.
You know this part where (spoilers for Act 1 ahead :P) Lilly and Shizune fight in the classroom, over Lilly not handing over those forms needed for the festival?
The part in which after Hisao sides with Lilly it is said she smiles the sweetest smile he saw all week?
Well... I had to side against her. She's had Shizune and Misha scolding her, and when given the opportunity to help and support her, I had to try to cover my ass and abandon her.
Instead of giving the sweetest smile, she got offended, got angry with me (Hisao, actually, but you know how personal it feels) and left the classroom.
I did not cry, but my heart aches so much right now.
I'm gonna have to replay her route again after that just to compensate.
I'm sorry, Lilly. Forgive me

Seriously, though. It hurt. :(

Crap. One of the only things that made me strong enough to make that choice was the assumption that I'm only gonna have to make it once... D:
(There was also the fact that otherwise I'd get the Manly Picnic I've heard so much about. I don't want that.)

Hmmm What made me cry the most? It has been awhile for me since I played this game the first time at least, nearly a year now I think... And yet some feelings are still there. I still picture Lilly every once and awhile. Or Rin, or all of them. Granted this could just be because I visit this bloody forum so much XD
I cried the most at all of them. All of them brought a tear to my eye's. Yes I know I am a bitch... XD Lilly's good end tore me up, and for the rest of the day I could barely function. Rin's good end..... Don't even get me started on that cluster fuck of feel's. Misha confessing and essentially breaking down, tore a hole in me. Hanako, Hana is just great. And Emi, well Emi is Emi....

This game is very powerful. It effected my outlook on life, helped mold me into a better person and the like. And i honestly believe that this game is only meant for sad broken people. Because from what i can tell at least, you need to be in a certain place in you're life to be able to truly enjoy this game. But perhaps that's just how I see this. :)

It's a tie.

Hanako's good ending scenes in the town (well, once the issue of consent the previous night was dealt with, that was honestly disgusting to read (and I don't mean that as it being bad writing, but rather feeling horrible about the situation) - I actually groaned in disgust when Hanako said why she did it) are one.

The other is... Emi's good ending scenes, via Misha. I think the scene in which Hisao and Emi reconcile amplifies the impact of the graveyard scene.

I just noticed. Not only does the picture semi-focus on Miki, so you notice her arm, but, Miki is the only one to be wearing black shorts.
