Not really. Within two years, yeah, I'm sure I have, but two years isn't really "recent".

I think I kicked the habit because I'm trying to un-learn all of my weird habits and tendencies. . .it was expected when I was a kid, a little weird when I was a teenager, but I am paranoid about creeping people out so I try to avoid publicizing my weirdness/immaturity/whatever.

I can't say I have played Hanako's game recently; at home our floor is wood and the tile at campus is uniform. But, I definitely played it back in the day.

My variation was that our car had a giant buzzsaw sticking out of it and I gave myself points for cutting down telephone poles or slicing guard rails. I also would try to predict when the telephone poles switched to the other side of the street so that I could get maximum points. That was fun.

Damn. I thought I was plain wierd when I did this. It's surprising how many other people do little things like this.

I used to do this a lot.
Also on surfaces with lots of little tiles I try to step on as few tiles at once as possible when I walk, which can lead to odd looks.

When I first saw this thread I thought it was about chess (from the last scene) and was seriously confused as to why nobody would call it by name

well. whenever i go anyplace with tiles i end up playing it one way or the other..

back in high school i was kicked out of the room once, ended up playing hanako's game while counting the tiles on the floor i was in.. i think i reached 3000 before giving up,, >.<
