Well, what can I say about the sex scenes?
They were what surprised me the most about Katawa Shoujo. It's a "cripple hentai VN made on 4chan" after all, what do you expect when you play it? Or so I thought.

The only to sex scenes which actually felt gratuitous to me where Lilly's first two. And even those, while certainly sexy, weren't really "Oh hell, I'm reading porn"-material. The other scenes, none of them made me feel like I was looking at anime porn at all. Emi's first one was hilarious, her second one was nicely used to lighten the mood after you meet her in her dorm room before (which was really crushing to see, IMO), her last one contrasts the first two so very much, and is really awesome as a storytelling tool as a result.
And that seems to be the general theme. I never thought I'd play a VN where the sex scenes are interesting to me because of the story they tell, or the sadness they imply (in three cases).

Really well done. Love them. I can't understand why some would disable them, especially for Shizune and Hanako you'd be missing out on major moments as far as character or story development goes.
