For Lily, I'm not so sure. She seemed to have learnt the lesson that sometimes, it is ok to think about yourself first. As long as she is maintaining a relationship with Hisao, it is not likely that they will split. Remember: She already defied her parents by staying in Japan, and Lord knows that all the good fan fiction dealt with the potential fallout from that.
you know that second part reminded me of something. I read an awesome epilogue fan-fic (taking place shortly after Hisao's hospital visit in Lilly's end. It left on a cliffhanger making me think Lilly's father mat have attacked Hisao. Never was continued after that.
The story you're thinking of is 'Confession' by FluffandCrunch. Here are the other ones I've found in the same continuity:

'Whiskey, Saki & Other Spirits' Warning: contains spoilers for 'Class of 2017', but then the reverse is true, too. It doesn't really matter which one you read first, but each will spoil a surprise of the other.

'Ten Summers Later' (Unfortunately written in VN style, but still good.)

'Scar Tissue - A Hanako Story' I'd have to reread it to be certain, but I think this is my favorite.

The 'Class of 2017' takes place at the 10 year reunion, which means it has the wrong title since, 1) the VN takes place in 2007 and 2) they graduated in 2008. 'Class of 2008 10 Year Reunion' is a bit clumsy for a title though. :P

'Reunion: Hisao and Akira Avoid The Family' is probably in the same continuity, and is worth reading no matter what. Bring hankies.
I found out about Katawa Shoujo through the forums of Misfile. There, I am the editor of Misfiled Dreams.

That was the one. I don't think the epilogue/prologue to the next part was ever expanded upon though, if it was I didn't find it

I also draw, kind of.

Neither have I, but I don't expect fanfic writers to write for my pleasure alone. If the story doesn't come, it doesn't come.

Yeah? They both have their own emotional hangups and have some maturing to do in some respects, but on the whole I think they're both mature and have good heads on their shoulders.
Tomate wrote:Maybe its about how we view life and the people we know. Why do i Think Hanako would eventually dump Hisao? Well, story time:

One of my friends was a somewhat shy programmer chick, she was kind of a computer freak and had a boyfriend, a older dude who was an all around nice guy, it was her first boyfriend, everything was kinda OK, after a while she lost her shyness and became more social influenced by her boyfriend, after a while she was not shy anymore, became more talkative and started making some friends here and there, soon she learned that lots of her friends found that a girtl that can code is pretty hot, and she left her boyfriend of 3 years, and went on a series of casual dates.

Sometime later i asked her why she left her boyfriend, since he and I became friends, and she said something like: I never dated when i was younger, i want to live a little, i was not ready for a serious relationship, just thought i was. She was 20 at the time, she started dating her first boyfriend when she was 16.

My friend is not Hanako, i know, they are actually very different, the only thing in common is the shyness. But i can see the same pattern in a HanakoXHisao relationship.
Man, and I thought Emi was a slut

I mean... I understand where you're coming from, but I seriously disagree that Hanako would ever do this. For starters, you say Hanako would 'aim higher' as though Hisao is just completely plain and average, but even if Hanako was a shallow cunt, Hisao is a nice catch himself; handsome face, good personality, big dick. Moreover, though, Hanako and Computer Girl don't have much in common, as you said. Hanako's in love with Hisao, and there's nothing about her personality or character that suggests she'll crank the slut factor up to eleven once her confidence builds up. Honestly, it seems like the way you view 'life and people' is a bit cynical and acts as though it's unrealistic for people to exhibit any amount of character or integrity.

Teen love might rarely endure (though I might have a skewered and overly optimistic view towards this since my mom started dating my dad when she was just about six months fresh out of high school, January 1971), but you of course have to take things on a case-by-case basis, and if you examine Hanako and Hisao as people and the nature of their relationship, it definitely has the makings of one that lasts for a long time and could easily culminate in marriage.

Odd how her possibly realizing in the future that she and Hisao aren't right together or wanting to have more experience instead of going "He was the first so I'm stuck with him" makes her a slut and a cunt. God forbid she doesn't stay with a guy she doesn't want to stay with, I guess. You...Don't do so well with the ladies, do you? Tomate's view is cynical and completely against everything we saw in her character and the story (I.E. it's fanfiction) but...Yeah, what you're saying is pretty...Well, it sounds stupid. :? Maybe my interpretation is off...I hope so.

I do well enough, and no, that's not what I meant. This is based off some posts he's made in the past, also, which basically amount to "Hanako might be in love with Hisao, but she'll dump him once she realizes that she can suck a lot more dicks than just his. Girls are all about more and more dicks, after all, and since Hanako is a girl, she'd probably place that above her deeply meaningful relationship with Hisao also." That has nothing to do with any realization that they're not right together (where her breaking up with him would of course be okay), or any obligation to stay with her first boyfriend, or anything else you misinterpreted my post as saying.

As for Hisao's schlong, it's shown in the sex scene with Hanako and I remember it being none too small.

That's a bit harsh, but you do have a point. I just prefer not to think of what happened after they left the school, I like to read fanfic as much as the next guy, but I think I just prefer only ever thinking of them as being at the school rather than thinking how all the characters may change and what might happen in their future relationships.

I mean it is interesting to ponder what if... but then I think of how for example Hanako may become a lot more outgoing and as you said leave Hisao, it just seems that If I think like that, I'm ruining the arc that I just read, of how all of the changes and the acceptance that came between them has just been forgotten and left behind.

I'm may be looking a little to deep into this though haha, just how my brain works.

Well, if you think that specifically, you are ruining the arc because that scenario completely disregards her entire character and story. But fanfics in general keep the arc intact.

Okay Doc, you just threw off my mental train of thought entirely.

It'll come back to me, I'm sure...

My first response is, Hanako is incredibly damaged from her past, it takes years to heal that kind of damage... it's not like she'd find her niche in High school and suddenly become this super outgoing person right after she graduated. Chances are she'd be in her mid to late 20s before she feels anywhere near totally confident and outgoing, and that doesn't even take into consideration how Hisao would feel about the matter, would he choose to be patient with her and stay with her? If I were him I would, but that's just my opinion. If I were him I definitely would stay with her no matter how many years it took. So chances are, from my point of view, by the time Hanako is in her mid 20s, she may already be married to Hisao, and they may even have their first child together.

I know a couple that dated since their sophomore year in High school and they're still together to this day with at least one child, so yes, I think it can happen.

In the case of Hisao and Hanako though, it's all just speculation, and considering they're fictional characters, one can write up stories that make things work out any way the writer prefers.

I guess I'm one of those optimists. We know from Lilly's arc that Hanaco has it in her to be more outgoing. That's the main reason why in my fics, I have her rooming with Lilly and Hisao. I figured that she can draw strength from knowing that there are at least two people who loved her. And the added resposibilties of helping run a household would at least give her a sense that shes not a burden and can contribute. I like to think watching her two friends going to college would encourage her to think about what she wants to do and start progressing in that direction as well. Yeah, it might take a couple of years, but I like to think she could at least function in society by the time shes 20.
I don't know if she'd pack up and leave him the first chance she got. It would really depend on how much they both have in common in the end.

Personally, I think it will be the college/university days that make / break her. It is likely to set the tone on how she'll work in her working days. At least in university, people are busy either mugging or partying. Not much petty bullying there.

No, not much petty bullying...Just the occasional unintentional cold-blooded murder. But hey, that's life. :P

Kudos for reference to Virginia Tech (and other shootings at universities).
