Google Translate:
Just a basic overview, the usual. Thanks Janusz Korwin-Mikke, in Poland there is a discussion about the visibility of disability in the media, and the approach to it. This is a perfect opportunity to introduce you a game that came out as true a few months ago, but it is still very popular. Here Katawa Shoujo .
The creator of this visual NOVELIANE a Four Leaf Studios. Took its name from the four-clover - a symbol of imageboardu 4chan, and consisted mainly of people who browsed mid imageboard. A group of surfers decided to create a game in which play a major role with disabilities. After five years of working successfully - January 4 this year, Katawa Shoujo was released. Although the authors themselves are mostly from the UK, your project relied on the Japanese, mango style quite nicely blending into the different culture.
Novela is having an affair with erotic elements. Our hero is Hisao Nakai, which we learn in the winter scenery, where he meets a classmate. It is obvious that the feelings for her, but at the time when they talk to each other (can confess love), Hisao's heart stops. Literally. Goes to the hospital, where doctors state arrhythmia. After a while, you may eventually leave the clinic. No data, however, it is a return to a normal life - goes to a school for the disabled.
As you can easily guess, is not too happy with the new environment. Sees people from around the defects, which is not easy to ignore the disability that you simply are different. It also rests on its own curse arrhythmia, likely to attack when you least expect. As I mentioned, the game is primarily a romance, the hero encounters along the way so few nice girls ... but only from our decision depends on whether Hisao waiting for a happy ending, or a lifetime match.
The first duet with disabilities who meet, are Shizune and Misha. Shizune is deaf (which does not bother her about being class president), and Misha is the interpreter. Mercilessly (literally) put the main character in the school world. On our way will also sportswoman Emi (lost both legs), elegant Lilly (blind), a shy Hanako (badly burned, mental health problems), painter Rin (no hands, mental health problems), and Kenji, which admittedly does not have the option of romance ( ... endless painful death), but that is by far the funniest guy in the game. This is of course not all the characters, but the rest is in a Supporting Role. Each person has their own problems, each must struggle with his disability. Slowly, however, Hisao begins to understand that the problem is usually not someone's appearance or disability, but it is seen as his own person. We can operate normally even if you are disabled, but only if you accept their differences and learn to live with it.
This is obviously not the only one who can reach the moral of the game. It is worth a couple of times to start the game again and follow a different path. This fact, along with happy endings and bad, we watch thirteen. Graphics are not too important in NOVELIANE, but is at a decent level. Just as a whole, which are built with care, and each has had a story to justify its actions. In the story, of course, you can not complain about it, and the game is a tear-jerker. No person shall walk by her indifference. If you select a romance with any of the girls, we have the opportunity to watch a short animation with its participation.
Let's not forget about the music, which is excellent. Lead the quiet, delicate melodies reflecting the mood of the school, and each character has its guiding theme. Poles have a special reason to rejoice, because the theme of the game is the song "Spring".
Katawa Shoujo, of course, raises controversy. Novel is definitely +18, actually, it's a pretty bold erotic scenes (sex, but not pornographic). Those which of these or other reasons, abhors sex with disabled people do not have to worry about - in the game options you can turn off the content of 18, so we can enjoy the story without the cartoon nudity, despised by many people.
Who do I recommend the game? Anyone who wants to understand at least a little of the dilemmas which face people with disabilities and how they feel. Anyone who wants to read a great story plot. And unfortunately - anyone who can speak English, because the creator did not create the Polish translation. Four Leaf Studios has completed the project, so it did not quite live to see ... The game is free, you can, soundtrack and some wallpapers for your computer, you can download from the homepage of the project: http://katawa-shoujo.com/

Okay, so now I know what photo to use if we ever make an adult filter again. Obvious in hindsight. :3
Shattering your dreams since '94. I also fought COVID in '20 and '21, and all I got was this lousy forum sig.

I decided to run the article through bablefish, for a few laughs (google is way better). If the Devs ever do decide on a sequel, I suggest that they read the first paragraph of the translation for a great idea!
By Joe Korwin-Mikkego, Poland takes the discussion about eksponowaniu of disability in the media, and the approach to it. This is the ideal opportunity to present to you the game that she is true a few months ago, but is still very popular. Here's The Katawa Occult Detective.

That really puts Kenji's Shaman Eyes in a new, different perspective.
As for the blog post itself, it's actually pretty neat, enumerating the main cast, and naming Kenji "the funnier character". With usual pray for the feels you get and an usual honest +18 warning.
And for those wondering who is Korwin Mikke mentioned at the beggining, he's kind of a fringe politician who roused some comments after committing what most consider a blunder by putting some insensitive remarks in the discussion about paralympics, and propositions of TV transmitions of the paralympic events.

I'm sorry but as nice as it is to see Katawa Shoujo getting more recognition, i have no faith in the taste or mental health of someone who refers to Kenji as the funniest person in the game.
Of course then again, Poland. I don't know much about Polish politics but i doubt they have the same problem America has with deranged idiotic radio hosts, so maybe he just doesn't have the same negative reference point there as he does for me. They don't know just how realistic Kenji was because they never heard of Michael Savage or Glen Beck.
...mind you if memory serves me correctly old Mittens has visited the country so i'm sure they're not totally alien to the perverse terror that is American politics.

Well, if we're gonna go off topic and talk about crazy conspiracy theorists like Kenji in the United States... Alex Jones anyone?Pyramid Head wrote:I'm sorry but as nice as it is to see Katawa Shoujo getting more recognition, i have no faith in the taste or mental health of someone who refers to Kenji as the funniest person in the game.

Though I won't rag on Polish humor; it's all gotta be seen in context.
