You guys (especially OP) have summarized everything I wanted to say about this game. I just completed 100% of it, and the entire experience was really pleasant (I got dem feels too).

"The closer I got to finishing katawa shoujo, the more I wanted to stop playing it. I started looking for other things to play, watch or read, dreading the final credits every time. But every time I played again, I immersed in it (obviously) and now it is finally over.

Is it bad that I always listen to the KS soundtrack each night, and nearly be brought to tears as I remember each moment with Hanako?
Is it bad that I'm suddenly a lot more attracted to disabled people?

This is game is so powerful that I'm feeling lonely just because the story is over. I connect with Hanako in such a way that I can't even start another path. I think about her every day, every hour of the day. My only wish is that I could live the experience of the game in real life.
Does anybody feel that way?

Get off the KS stuff and come back in a few weeks or so and reevaluate how you are then.

There are other people on these forums who can explain what to do with your feels a hell of a lot better than I can, so all I can offer is good luck!

1. depends. Since I don't know you I can't assume such a thing based on a single sentence.
2. Depends. For some it allows them to work through their emotions, for others they wallow in them.
3. No. Infact, I think it could be healthy. As there is a possibility you no longer see them as broken or pity them, but as people. Which would make them more appealing.
4. Depends. If you are looking for a person that is like Hanako, you'll tend to want to compare that person to Hanako, which isn't healthy. If you are just looking for a person who has a couple of character traits that you find appealing in Hanako, it wouldn't be bad.

To cure your Waifu syndrome, you're going to have to come to terms with the fact you'll never actually meet her, or anyone that is exactly like her. Yes, it may break your heart, or perhaps you already realize it and are in a depressed funk causing you to be overly attached. For that it's best to just put some distance between you and the game(as well as music and pictures to do with it), and meet people.

ah. You've probably got the 'in love with love' bug. More specifically the desire to want a person to love. Hanako herself typically comes off as non-confontational, so it's easier for shy/loner people to fall for that type of relationship.

If I were your age, I'm pretty sure I'd feel the same way. And I have btw. there was this one nerdy girl in my 9th grade history class I was swooning for. She was also a quiet loner type. Since I was quite shy and paranoid of people in general obviously I didn't do anything about my feelings. ah.. now that I'm older I regret not trying to atleast befriend her.

All I can say is to learn to watch people in your classes. If you see someone that meets your fancy, atleast attempt being friends. Don't go without trying, them kind of regrets haunt you if you have a good memory. It's pretty sad, but I still remember her face and name, even after 15 years. Them first crushes man lol

As for the desire to find that 'one' whom you can love, it'll come and go. Atleast until you find someone, then you got all sorts of new emotions to figure out heh~

I love shy people, long before playing KS I've always had a thing for them..

Sadly in my world, shy people are rare.

I've given a training course on game making once and one of the attendees was a guy who acted almost exactly like Hanako. (he wasn't burned, btw) Wouldn't say a single word unless you asked him a question in which case you usually did get just that...a single word. And most of the time barely above the volume level of a whisper. (which meant you usually had to ask him to repeat himself) Never made eye contact. At the start of one of the lessons he found out he was behind on some assignments and went MIA for like 15 minutes because he was afraid we'd scold him. (we wouldn't have, since it really wasn't that much of a big deal) During breaks he usually sat alone.

We got him to work productively on things eventually, though his communication level wasn't any better at the end than it was at the beginning. If you wanted to know something from him, you usually needed 10 questions instead of one since his answers were usually limited to one or two words. He was exactly like how Miki described Hanako; perfectly nice, just hard to deal with. (funny fact, over the mail he could communicate perfectly fine, it was just his personal communication skills that were extremely stunted)

I wonder sometimes if many people are so hung up about shyness because they assume the shy person WILL make an exception and open up to them. 'cause dealing with someone who acts like Hanako all the time can be very exhausting at times.

Read more nakige until "feels" become a normal thing. An utsuge or two might do the trick as well. However, don't start reading unless you have lots of free time. Reading VN after VN can be highly addicitive. However, it works. At least for me, it did. After going through MuvLuv and MuvLuv Alternative, I was like "what feels?" (It may get worse before it gets better, though. That too happened to me.)

I knew a guy like that at work. He was our assembler. I swear the first few times I talked to him, he cringled like I was going to hit him or something. He did not socialize at all with anybody there.

I probably talked to him more than anybody else in the store did. Turned out, he just viewed work as work. He wasn't there to make friends, he was there to do a job, so he just focused on that and tried to avoid dealing with people. He was actually a fairly decent guy once you got to know him, not that I ever really got to know him, but we reached the point where he could talk and joke around with me.
