I don't know where people get the suicide thing from I've never been sure of this either. Is it just Sae's husband, and people assume that's supposed to be a foregone parallel with Rin? I don't see what else it could be, but if every brilliant artist were eventually headed towards suicide worldwide ...

I like dryness for the most part personally. Makes the wet all the more worth it later on (both when it comes to tears and the other kind of wet).
