Re: Escapist Review

I'd say that this is one of the better-constructed reviews I've seen for KS. The things it points out are very realistic drawbacks to the story, and they provide examples supporting their assertions. They even wisely went so far as to admit that reviewing it from the perspective of a game was ...

Re: Katawa Fortress 2

I hadn't realized that Valve had opened up its resources to community-created content through the Steam Workshop. I don't know if I'd be able to go so far as to alter voices and such, but it looks like custom models are a real possibility. *fiddling with Blender*

Re: Hanako bad ending discussion

You have constructed a mighty fine straw argument there, sir. I shall turn my attentions elsewhere and advise others to do the same.

Re: Why is Hisao so disliked?

I think the "coasting along to see if the character would learn and grow or not" is still what was somewhat expected of the player to do in order to enjoy KS. It's kinda like Hisao's interaction with Hanako in her arc...you can't micromanage Hisao's life; what you have to settle for is a handful of ...

Re: Why is Hisao so disliked?

Hisao is a confused messed up kid that can't quite bring himself to tell people how he really feels dealing with other confused messed up kids tha can't handle telling him how they feel (with the possible exception of Lilly who seems fairly well adjusted compared to just about every other character ...

Re: Hanako bad ending discussion

Can you tell me just how excessive her reaction was, objectively? I mean, can you give me a measurement of some kind or does "excessive" depend on whomever is observing and judging her actions? The problem with your argument is that you're implying the seemingly inherent subjectivity of the ...

Re: Which relationship do you think will last?

@Trufax: damn straight! As for the viability of the relationships, that's a hard one. I regard the characters as very human, but they're definitely still rooted in the archetypes of first love. As such, there are many qualities that are over-simplified for sake of an engaging narrative that are ...

Re: In a year of so will you still play this game?

KS will undoubtedly be something I take in over the years, what I'm most interested in is the future of this community. Right now, it's still pretty fresh on our tongues, but I would love to see the community evolve given time and flourish into something that I can stick with in the time between ...

Re: Otaku USA Review

I was taught that, in the course of writing a piece of persuasive writing, I need to declare a thesis, arguments, and supporting evidence. I only see the first two here in definite, with abstracted opinion filling in for the third.

Cool review, bro.

Re: The katawa secret files?

Yeah, old bits of writing material just don't have the same endearing connotation as concept art. Short of writing a quantum novel, the possible plot paths and alternate written forms would only muddle the clarity of the final product. I'm sure many here who are inspired by the work would love ...

Viola. So few know what the heck it is and those who do usually don't care. We're the outcast punks of the orchestra.

Speaking of, I really need to find a hundred bucks lying around to get my viola into a shop. Stupid climate change did a number on my beautiful bow. ;-;

Re: If this entire board is Yamaku High...

Much as I would like to transport my more mature self back in time, I would probably be founder of the "Sit Around and Talk About Esoterics Club" again. My steps for starting this club back in High School were: 1) Find an interesting spot to sit and think. 2) Continue to be introverted. 3) People ...

Re: The "thank you 4LS" thread.

You guys are the epitome of one-upping yourselves, 4LS. First, you pour your hearts, energy, and five years of your time to crafting something that easily surpasses professional works in its quality. Then, you go one better and give it away for free, demanding that it be free, in fact. After that ...
