Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
AMD/ATI 1. The ATI GPU requirement is to be compatible with ATI CAL, and that is any card from 2xxx (R6xx) series and above. Unfortunately this also means 1xxx and older cards are not compatible because the shader architecture is not unified. 2. The ATI driver requirement is currently the Catalyst ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Hey all, I'm set for folding in the KS team now too :D Right now I'm only running the standard CPU client. Started about 1-1.5 hours ago as far as I remember but I'm already 32/250 on my first WU. My specs are: AMD A8 x4 3850 @2.9GHz AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB 8GB DDR3 RAM On a side note, I can't get ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Just installed the main single-cpu version and it's running alright. I have a quad so it kind of just uses 25% of my total power overall. I have some questions some of you probably can answer (the FAQ was a bit confusing): 1. The GPU client, it works in the same way as the CPU client only with just ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Well, I don't get any lags or something like that with setting it to 100%, so it should be fine. None of the four cores are ever over 50%....just two or three at 30% at the same time. That would be because you're using a single core client. A multi-core client would utilize more of your cpu. But ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Well, I'm running the singlecore-client (or what the standard-client is) on a quadcore, so I can set it to 100% and still do work while it's folding in teh background. This way I can run it at work. Was trying to run teh GPU client, but my GPU started making strange noises...gave me tinnitus after ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
You mean where you go when you push "Ctrl+Alt+Del"? I can't find a status for my background programs there, just the things that come up on my main taskbar. You can right-click on your taskbar, and click on "Start Task Manager," Then go under the performance tab. Okay, I think I get where you're ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Another way of knowing is to check your CPU usage. Just check in windows task manager, should be at 100% under default settings I think. Either way, even if it's not at 100%, just compare the CPU usage when it's on and when it's off, and you should see a *very* noticeable difference. You mean where ...
