Re: Tips for fanfiction writers (that means YOU)
So, I suddenly remembered that these forums existed and decided to come back and see what's been going on with all of you. I've been continuing to write fan fiction for other games and the like and figured I might as well share some advice I've gathered over the past couple of months. Most new ...

Re: Tips for fanfiction writers (that means YOU)
I honestly use the road trip method myself for most of my works. I just like to know exactly what I'm ending on so I know which way to steer the story after I've had my fun with the side stuff. Tip! When writing a character, write out a small conversation scene with them and another character. It ...

Re: Tips for fanfiction writers (that means YOU)
True enough. Anyway. Here's a tip or two. -1. If you can, get someone to read your dialogue out loud. This may seem a little odd to some people, but it can help you figure out whether it flows well, or so you can hear how it sounds and see if it sounds natural or not. -2. Come up with a beginning ...

Heh. Good to know I got her personality down. And I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm already working on the next chapter, though it may be delayed even longer then usual. I'm going on vacation in a few days and I don't have a travel laptop that I can write on.

Re: Tips for fanfiction writers (that means YOU)
While i do like that the location of the school isn't given, it does cause a few odd things in fanfiction where they can't refer to the nearby town or city directly and simply say, "The/this town/city." or other little odd things like how there never seems to be named shops anywhere except for the ...

Chapter 3
Chapter 3 This chapter most definitely didn’t take three month, your perception of time has just been screwed with by the awesomeness of it! (It took five months anyway…) ----- I’m woken up by my alarm, which is just a generic beeping noise which I always feel is just a really uncreative way to go wh ...

Re: Tips for fanfiction writers (that means YOU)
[snip]If you are going to make a story like that, you might want to include a new character. Don't treat them like a new character either, treat them like somebody the pother cast members have known for a while. [snip] Now if you don't feel like making a 100% new character for your story with Miki ...

Re: Tips for fanfiction writers (that means YOU)
It's best not to have a character who is a complete waste of human life and kindness as your main character. Mostly because it's unrealistic and will throw people out of the story. Give them SOME good points. They could be good at math, at listening to people's problems, tutoring people, anything ...

Re: Tips for fanfiction writers (that means YOU)
Hey. It's me again! You know, that guy who starts writing something half decent and then wanders off for a couple month because he has the attention span of a half baked cheeto? Yeah. That guy. Anyway. I personally never really have a problem with the wall of text, but I just do the double space for ...

Re: KS Characters play...
"Kenji, why the hell are you making me play this game? And why the hell are there animatronic animals everywhere...?" "You'll love it, man." "Saying that I'll 'love it' doesn't really answer any of my questio-" Freddy Fazzbear jumps out. "HHRRKK!"

Pretty much what Alpa said. And yes, those ravens confused me as to why they're there.

Re: KS Characters play...
Well obviously that would happen. The jist of things like this is to have characters from something else play a game (Little Kuriboh does this a lot) but still keep their personality and dialogue close to what it is in the original work.

Sounds interesting. I've been trying to come up with a good voice for Kenji for awhile now.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Currently Undergoing a Sea Change)
It was really just a gut feeling and how much she was mention that she couldn't find him. That and it just seemed too easy to not happen. Still major sadness, though.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Currently Undergoing a Sea Change)
Sadness. All I can say is sadness.
I thought it was rather well written, even if I almost immediately knew what the twist was. Nice little epilogue and felt pretty in character for Rin.
