All we need now is The Cook to translate it for us West Germanic speakers.

Top 10 - Soundtracks
A subjective ranking from the whole staff about the ten best soundtracks ever!
Saturday, 22 November 2014 by Matteo Bruno

Spartans never die...

Welcome back dear readers, to this feature which will deal with many different subjects month after month, compiling a TOP 10 every time. Yes, you understood right, for the first time the staff of Kingdomgame.it will join into a single feature and will create a chart of the top ten examples of the selected subject. Today's subject is soundtracks, the top ten which accompanied our fights, intergalactic trips, victories and defeats.

*ATTENTION: Descriptions might contain spoilers. We wish to remind that this is a purely subjective chart, created according to the staff's personal tastes. The pieces chosen are only used to identify the product while the ranking and the voting have kept under consideration the entire soundtrack of the game.
8. To Become One – Katawa Shoujo

“Close your eyes and dream, cry, laugh, this is the perfect soundtrack. Each note succeeds in transmitting real emotions which fill your heart accompanying you in the grief and joy which this game succeeds in making you feel and in which everyday life is reflected.” - Matteo Bruno

We had already talked about this not-well-known title in the fourteenth issue of the now-lost feature "For a fistful of games". Katawa Shoujo is a visual novel in Oriental style. Without action scenes or cutscenes, save for a few exceptions, the story is entirely narrated through text and the soundtrack will impeccably accompany us in its reading, not letting us get bored and amplifying the emotions generated by it.

'Cook's subtle cultural insinuations into the Italian psyche are paying dividends!

Thank you, Hushed Food Preparer. ;)

I would have said Parity, myself. Even though Rin a shit a whole shit, Cloudland Swing and Parity are my two favourite themes :P

If anything, I'd say To Become One is my least favourite from the soundtrack.

Okay, to you who don't get it:

To Become One is a sex track.

It is used in the sex scenes.

These guys literally chose porn music as their number 8 on the "best tracks of all time."

Sex track? Simplistic interpretation at best.

It plays during:
  • Manly picnic
  • First sight of Lilly's room (× 2)
  • Nomiya waxing poetic about art
  • Lilly's second H-scene
  • Lilly's third H-scene
  • Emi's second H-scene
  • Shizune's second H-scene
Other music that plays during H-scenes:
  • "Painful History"
  • "Letting my Heart Speak" (× 4)
  • "Hokabi"
  • "Comfort"
  • "Romance in Andante II"
  • "Breathlessly"
So, as we can see, "Letting my Heart Speak" plays as many times in H-scenes as does "To Become One", but neither is even at 1/3 share, as there are five other tracks in the mix too. In addition, "To Become One" plays in as many non-H-scene contexts as H-scene ones.

In conclusion, Your Honor, I believe the defense has shown sufficient reason not to pigeonhole this fine, fine piece of music.
