Drawing: Rin~

This is my first post on this forum, thus It may seem like i'm being selfish just posting my fan art, I am aware of that (and i'm sorry).

Before I knew of katawa, let alone of Rin, I used to draw more then I did the day I started Katawa Shoujo for the first time, back in the day I did allot of vector works and other digital drawings. I decided to close my Deviant-art account and stop drawing for good (so I thought) because I thought I was not improving.
It seems after the fact, that I could improve, although I needed a good story to tell me that, and I tried again to draw larger projects.

And now I made Rin, I used a still from the cinematic and vectored the outlines of her body, then I drew all the flat colors and shaded them.
I focused allot on my drawing of her hair, and I think that it turned out okay.

I would love to hear what you guys have to say about it!

I don't think it comes off as being selfish, first of all :) And welcome to the forums!

This is really nicely done. What do you mean by vectoring? I'm not all that familiar with computer-based art, so I'm genuinely interested in anything you may have to say about the process :) Also, the hair looks awesome, and I think the eye looks nice as well.

And you drew best girl. That always helps.

Aww your so nice~ :)

So yea, vectoring is using vector graphics to draw~
Every line on the bunch of lines of my drawing is made from points connecting to each others, these are the vector points.
If I want to draw a line, I place 2 vector points and there will be a line generated between them.
with these points I can decide multiple parameters, like how curved the lines are. how thick the lines are, and more.

I think this image will explain it better!
these are all the vector points in my drawing.

Most of the time for me, vector lines take a bit longer to make, but are clean!

Yeah, that did go some to help explain it :) So, in effect (and I don't want to sound like I'm oversimplifying it) it becomes a grand scale dot to dot? That's pretty neat!

It's a neat format because it scales extremely well - you don't have to worry too much about pixellation if you want to make a whole bunch of different sizes of what you drew.

As to the art, I think the coloring is very well done. I can tell you spent the most time on her hair, it looks quite nice.

Looks nice, your proportions seem to be good so hopefully this'll look as good (if not better) than the Rin one :D
