I've played ks on my old windows 7 laptop and fullscreen worked fine, the game kept it's aspect ratio with black bars on the sides of the screen. However I'm now trying to play it on my windows 8.1 pc, and when I go to fullscreen the game stretches to fill my entire monitor which obviously makes it look horrible. The monitor is 1920x1080 and I think the problem is caused by ks not automatically changing my resolution to fit the game, though I have no idea how make it do so.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

What kind of video card do you have? Most of the video cards these days have configuration software that allows you to tweak the screen's scaling and keep the aspect ratio intact.

I have a GTX 770, managed to fix it.

For future reference if anyone has the same problem, I went into NVIDIA control panel and changed the scaling from "display" to "GPU".
