Problem with full screen

Hi, I'm running the game on Linux Mint 15, and my problem is that when I run the script, it goes on the half screen screen, and change to full screen, but when I leave the game or remove the full screen, the entire screen my computer is compressed into a square.
Running the script in a console, this is what appears to remove the full screen:
