Neutral ending with Hanako

When I play the full version of the DDL when I get to the point where Hanako
and Hisou play chess on Hanakos birthday I end up getting the credits during the
chess game and it ends with the neutral ending . I think this happens because
I am not making the right decisions for the multiple choice things so if anybody
knows which decisions I pick for the choices so that I don't have to end with
the neutral ending can I get them because I really want to get farther in
Katawa Shoujo. Thank You if you can help

It is the most recent decision before that. "Agree with Lilly" instead of "Trust my own judgment".

There is also a third ending, but to get that you have to...
... decide to call it a day at an earlier point.

So if I go into town with her then say go with lilys decision it will continue from the point of chess with her instead of trust my own judgement which makes it neutral?

Not quite. Everything after that decision will develop differently and it is quite a bit longer.

Go to the city and then trust Lilly.
