I wish they would've had the common courtesy to censor Hanako's scarring.

And isn't that something great about KS? It lures you in with the notion of downloading some perverted cripple porn - and then you get a touching story with a decent plot instead.

KS obviously does contain pornographic scenes; but these sex scenes aren't just gratuitous, as they definitely contribute to the storyline. And if you were someone who's only interested in some lowbrow porn, you'd surely be disappointed, as you need to play for hours before you even get the first glimpse of a naked girl's body.

In Hanako's path the sex scene is hardly sexy or arousing at all, even though it's very explicit - but it has an entirely awkward and uncomfortable feeling to it. This is without a doubt one of the most un-erotic sex scenes I've ever seen - and it fits perfectly into the story, showing how Hanako and Hisao fail to establish a truly understanding relationship, until they manage to make up at the very end.

In Rin's path the sex scenes are a little less awkward, but still have a quite gloomy feeling to them. These scenes help you to comprehend how Rin and Hisao try to get closer to each other, but you can see that it's still difficult for them to reach mutual understanding.

In Emi's path the sex scenes give an impression of the carefree and playful side of Emi's character. And of course you get to see that truly hilarious scene in the tool shed; in my eyes this one is more funny than sexy, especially when you can hardly look at her naked body, since you have to pay attention to the changing facial expressions she is making.

In Shizune's path the sex scenes illustrate a slight change in the relationship between Shizune and Hisao; at first, in the bondage scene, she needs to be totally in control; later, in the scene in the student council's room, she allows him to move more freely; and at the end of that scene, she even lets him get on top and take control of the movement.

In Lilly's path I had the impression that the sex scenes weren't as essential to the plot as in the other paths; they seem to be included mainly for the purpose of illustrating her "healthy adolescent sex drive". However, there's the blindfold scene; that one is important for the development of the relationship between Lilly and Hisao, as it helps Hisao to a better understanding of the way Lilly perceives the world around her.

As a résumé, playing games like KS (or my favourite VN, Kana - Little Sister) only for the sex scenes would be a waste of time. But if you like reading a meaningful story as well as looking at cute girls, it's a nice opportunity to find both of that combined.

There's a funny paradox there. Or i find it funny at least. Despite that being the scene where you see the most flesh, it's the one you're least likely to jerk off too and is by far the most unpleasant sex scene in the game, and i'm saying this even though i found Hanako to be the most attractive character by far. The scene completely lacks intimacy, neither Hisao nor Hanako knew what they were doing, they both came to regret it, during the entire scene the melancholic tune assigned to Hanako's character played, expressions are almost always grim, and Hisao is hung like a hamster.

Besides, i think the fact that it's a drama, you have to sometimes go hours before a sex scene appears, and the fact that they typically play out as the characters expressing intimacy or venting stress like the writers actually understood how the world was beginning to react to the miracles of birth control and condoms make it a far cry from porn which is, for lack of a better description, spank material and absolutely nothing else. Or in short, it's too well written to be porn. Or most of it is, though funnily enough the scenes that really do come the closest to being something you'd see in a porno have the least amount of flesh on display. The absolute worst sex scene didn't even let you see more cleavage than usual.
