Katawa Shoujo Forums

So it seems that Kotaku has just published a review of our beloved game. I know these types of threads have been done before but what are your thoughts on this particular review? I agreed with many of the points, except the part about the music being somewhat unrelated to the story line or characters. But maybe that's just me.

I personally hate every aspect of Kotaku but I do realize that it's a pretty big mainstream blog/site and I guess any kind of good publicity is good for KS in general. It is nice to see people finally NOT using the fanart Misha image for the review as well as actually playing the game.

That's true. Gawker Media seems to be the Fox news of the internet, but that have a large fanbase for whatever reason. The more publicity the better.

It's odd how its almost always about the same issues as well.

Because the KS fandom is one of the most easiest fandom to troll. Not trying to be funny but you guys are.

That's true. It doesn't help that we're a somewhat rabid fandom for a cripple porn game of all things, so things will get messy.

I think the comments (so far) are fairly civil. One guy displays the usual "fetish game" argument and he's far less rabid about it than a lot of other comments I've seen around the net.

Im guessing the comments turn into flame wars partly due to people stricken by the feels, and people who wonder what kind of person could possibly fap to crippled girls.

And probably some people who know japanese who think the title is screwed up

I haven't cared about them ever since they started publishing *controversial* articles just to get page hits and ad revenue.
That being said, I think there was another review on Shitaku itself which bashed KS, but there's no way in hell I'm going to go and find it.

well he'll probably hate it like he hates pretty much every game he reviews, even if he admits its fun (i.e. Super Mario Galaxy).
I think the only game he mentioned he liked was Killer 7
I'd like him to do a review on Yume Nikki...
