Hisao and his physical health

does it bother anyone else how Hisao's health deteriorates while playing routes other than Emi's. For example I was just playing Hanako's route and throughout the game we continually see Hisao getting out of breath from walking, comment on his health, and etc. Felt the worse when I chose "take it easy" on the track with Emi, her seeming 'disappointed' had me almost wanting to stop playing. Then he has a heart attack chasing after Lilly. D:
Feel like he would live the best life going down Emi's route (personally), has a good career (started a "science club" with Mutou and made plans for uni), is in great physical shape and will probably stay so due to his relationship with Emi.
Idunno just feels like he doesn't have many years left to live with the other girls.

I think that's what bugged me most about the arc differences. Mouto seems so different in Emi's arc, while there isn't really any reason to take that extra interest in Hisao. Likewise, on his health, I have a hard time believing he COULDN'T juggle light exercise, awesome tea-time with Lilly and Hanako, AND occasional slaveworkstudent council activities while chasing his favourite broad. I dunno, I don't think you NEED any of these in the story, but they would have expanded Hisao character. Mind you, it would have made him the same every arc, which I think would lose something.

You should probably add a few spoiler tags there, OP. Mostly around the Lilly part.

Yeah and the nurse, they develop a lot more in Emi's arc IMO.
Just a bit depressing seeing him get weak knowing that his physical health was 2x better in Emi's arc.

Yeah, it always kind of bothered me that you couldn't keep doing your morning runs and NOT also be boning emi. I mean, it's not as if they conflicted with anything else that any of the other characters were doing. Anyone else notice how in every route except emi's, Hisao's heart was a major plot point, whereas after a while with emi it just kind of ceased to be an issue?

Yeah, I just finished Hanako and felt really awesome and sad that it ended. But at the same time I was wondering "what about his heart man? He's got like what, 5 years!? Needs to EXERCISE" haha. Still a great route though, but can't give me the amount of closure Emi did. Other than her shyness Hanako's pretty average, while in my opinion Emi's playfulness and personality is a lot more appealing.
No hate though both great routes. Might try Lilly next.

Hammering together stalls for a School Festival is bound to increase your heart rate.
It's just some thing that doesn't happen often enough.
Though in Shizune's arc
Hisao having a flutter while throwing balls did kind of bug me a bit
He's been swinging a hammer building stalls.. and now we have to believe that he's having an episode throwing a ball now, instead of doing some thing a more strenuous earlier?
Given his condition, any activity that increases the heart rate a bit for a prolonged period would be beneficial.
Not that it happens in the game, But If Hisao (Hell, even all of us) has/have the sensibility to use stairs rather than the Elevator/Escalator in everyday use that too will contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
It doesn't take much to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Walk short distances rather than drive.
Use the stairs.
Watch your diet. (Ok, so Shizune is a bad influence here with her preference for fried foods)
Sure Hisao stated that he's short of breath at times doing simple tasks. That 'should' be a flag to motivate people to be more active more often. (Hisao is a dumb ass:
What The Hell, Hero?
Running/Jogging is one way to improve your cardiovascular fitness.. But It's by no means the only way to do it.
Brisk walks, Jump rope, Bicycling.
I could imagine Hisao and Lilly taking up Tango Dancing together. That's sure to get the blood flowing.. in more ways than one

that's the thing though, because it actually happens in the actual story i feel a lot more closure from Emi's route KNOWING that he'll be healthy.

I think (okay, I hope) that was something that finally drove the point home.
Seeing the picknick on the mountain at the end, I think Hisao couldn't climb that high untrained. I know, wishful thinking.

I'm sure getting some blood circulation on Lilly's arc wouldn't be all that difficult. I mean, I'm sure the healthy adolescent sex drive thing helps

Don't they sort of address that exact issue, though?
Lilly takes the lead -a condition enforced for reasons their path goes into- and despite being a Catholic schoolgirl in a pornographic story, she's not particularly, shall we say, athletic about things.

Wel at least she stays, you know,
on top of things.

For noodles' sake! The guy's not dying!
His condition is dire, and he doesn't have the chances to spoil his grandchildren, most of us might have, but the chances are still there. He should refrain from strenous hard work, and take his meds (which he doesn't do regularly in Lily's thread ), and he's going to be basically allright.
It's not like he's about to kick the bucket any minute.
The condition doesn't qualify for a heart transplant, and he's not even having a pacemaker of any kind implanted (or did he have one at the end of Lily's thread? Can't remember). He got lucky to be honest.

He did, but it was only in until he'd stabilized

Yeah, it's almost as if the writers used Hisao's condition for dramatic effect.
Shocking.
