I'm not a fan of Hideaki, but dressing like that in front of Jigoro Hakamichi takes some really impressive guts. That's worth some respect all on its own.

He said his stockings were cool and seasonal.

I think he's just intended to be Akira's opposite.

He's just a bit out of it is all. He doesn't give a shit that he dresses like a girl if he thinks it looks cool. Hell, he probably thinks his stockings are to pantyhose as kilts are to skirts.

i swear I remember reading somewhere during the game that Hideaki's choice of dress was not his own. Did I imagine that? Seems to me that dressing like a girl because someone else thinks you should completely negates the respect potentially earned by wearing that getup in front of his whacko father...

That's what I thought too, especially considering how they seem to take to each other. I enjoyed him as a character, but I don't think he's someone I'd get on well with in real life. lol
