100% Completion Step-by-Step

Post by geekahedron »

After going through the game, well, hundreds of times in the process of making my flowcharts, I decided to try and put together a "shortest route" to 100% completion. Here's what I have come up with, including save management. This covers all of the scenes and all possible endings, with the "bad" endings for each girl coming before the better ones.

I just deleted my own save file (tearfully, and after backing it up) and tested the walkthrough, and sure enough I have 100% completion and everything in the Extra unlocked again!

Edit: Thanks to eldorin for helping make sure this is 100% complete.
Edit 2: I've now updated Rin's route to add a save point in "Things I Hate" to avoid replaying the entirety of Act 3 multiple times for no reason. The guide is still fully complete, but quite a bit faster in that section.

Re: 100% Completion Step-by-Step

Post by geekahedron »

I just figured it's not the kind of post that needs a lot of comments, really. I just noticed when I was compiling the flowcharts that there are a lot of different ways to reach certain scenes, but some are much shorter than other paths to the same place, and it became an exercise of curiosity to find the shortest path to 100% completion. I've actually noticed a few ways that this walkthrough could be tweaked to make it slightly more optimal, but it's not a huge priority to change at the moment. :p

Also, it's not useful for most people who probably (and should) want to play the game a few times before looking for a walkthrough or flowchart. This might be useful for someone who is simply wanting to unlock the whole game from scratch on a second computer, for example (which I myself have done), and wants to just do it fast for the sake of having everything unlocked. I also tried to arrange it so that if someone was playing for the first time and doing nothing but following this walkthrough, it would be a decent experience. I could probably do that much differently, in retrospect, so that the girls are encountered in an order that makes them more meaningful in other arcs (playing Shizune and Hanako before Lilly, for example). At some point I'll get around to changing it.

For now, it is what it is, a simple guide to unlock the entire game without having to pore over flowcharts and figure out what's missing, etc. I think it's pretty straightforward to understand, if you're looking at it while playing the game, but I'm definitely open to suggestions as to how it may be set up more clearly.

Now if you really want a challenge, try to find a method to determine "true 100%". Which would mean that you actually read every line of dialogue there is. After all, there's plenty of that appears with other than the necessary choices. In fact, there's even a line in Shizune Act 4 that only appears if you take the non-"Go for it" route in Act 1.

As a matter of fact, my latest project is mapping all the dialog in the game and the changes made by the choices the player makes. It's a considerably longer undertaking than the flowcharts because, yes, choices made in act 1 do affect text later in the game. It's a good deal of work, but also very interesting. :)

Tiny, tiny mistake: The scene after you comfort Misha is "Look Aside" and the scene after you refuse is "Look Ahead", but you labeled both as "Look Aside".

After several runs through I found your guide and decided to fill in all the blanks. The only missing thing I found is that although I did get 100% completion, I was missing one gallery picture on page two, middle row, 2nd from the left.

To obtain that you needed to use the variant method to get to Emi's good ending.

Right after you have >>> EMI BAD ENDING <<< do the following to get the last picture:

Code: Select all

       > LOAD "Guess Who's Coming... Never Mind"
       > Go after her.
       Instant Replay
       > Give in and let Misha know.
       Whispers of the Past
       Hooray for Socks
       Clean Teeth
>>> EMI GOOD ENDING <<<
That fills in the last picture! :)

Thanks this helped me a lot! I'm still missing gallery pictures (but not the special one) but that might be because I turned off the sex scenes.

I'm not sure how I ended up with a full gallery the first time I tested this, but thanks! The only scene missing was the track immediately after you talk to Misha, so I modified the original walkthrough with one additional save point to get right there. Thanks for finding this!

Not to be mean and share a walk-through in a thread featuring a walk-through but I found this one way back here on the forum, can't remember where. I used it to get 100% my first time through. Through.
