Lately my friends have been obsessing over this program called SECOND LIFE. They use it to join virtual role play games and the like. I was surprised to learn that there exist school based Role plays on this program. When I told them about KS, they told me they thought it would make for a great role play setting. I noticed that there were a couple threads of fan-made characters and I thought I would put this idea out there. I have heard some nasty horror stories about SL and I want to make sure people are actually interested before looking into it.

I think you've got the wrong thread here friend, this is the Fan Fiction subforum and I believe you want the Public Discussion subforum.

Oh and Second Life makes me cringe, I don't know why.

Hm, Figured it would go with everyone's Fan Characters, oh well
(Yeah, my friends have not done a good job of selling SL to me, But it's just an example of one medium for a free form RP.

Wow, I have to wonder what sims you were going to. I have been on SL for almost 7 years and let me tell you it's not that rampant, unless all you did was look for adult content. I will have gone for months before I actually see anyone doing anything like that, and on the furry note, most of that kind of conduct is on fur based sims, so you don't run into it as much as you say. There is a fan group for KS on SL,and all that have seen the avatars or read the profile of club members get sent to the KS site so they can also get in on the fun. Plus I have had several come up to me and ask if I was cosplaying from KS so the word is there and spreading. SL is just an engine for virtual social interaction, but what kind of interaction is up to you, if you look for nothing but negative things, then that is all you will find.
