What Pet would fit Katawa Shoujo?

Most anime series have one weird animal/monster/pet, so if the show becomes popular the producers can use them to sell merchandise. If Katawa Shoujo were an anime series, which pet would fit it the best?

Although that's obviously already been done by Homestar Runner, so we'd have to think of something original.
Maybe some sort of animal that people tend to underestimate or something.
