Did anyone else have trouble with how the erotic scenes were written into the plot. I didn't particularly enjoy most of them since they felt like they were only put in there to comply with eroge canon. It seemed like they were just put in to advance the plot most of the time. The only ones I felt were done properly were Rin's. The writing and the build up there made the scenes seem heavy; showing the tension between the characters, enhancing the story. Emi's were laughable, but i get that it was a joke, albeit necessary.

The writing just felt sloppy in compassion to the rest of the game. I wish the writers would have spent a little more time on them and did some better research.

I think the H-scenes were written very well if you compare it to most other ero visual novels.

Having done only Emi and Hanako's route I felt they were both well done.

Emi spoilers
Emi's seemed like written by someone who has actually had sex. The anal scene demonstrates that, in all honesty, at a young age when you're intimate time with someone can be incredibly awkward and "experimenting" doesn't always yield positive results. My first time having sex wasn't ... really how I imagined it would be, let's put it that way.

Hanako spoilers
Hanako's i felt served the plot well. The scene could have been replace by some description like "we had sex" or something, but seeing the... strained nature of it was a bit painful and I'm glad I watched it. Like I said, it comes up in the plot later and seems to fit very well into things. Watching that neither of them were actually comfortable with it accentuates that they both kind of wanted it to happen and not happen at the same time.

As an aside: I don't see why the whole internet is so concerned about these scenes.
Everyone reading this is alive because their parents had sex. People have sex, it's natural. Living in North America it's frustrating that sex can be so taboo to portray. Maybe I've just been hanging out with too many Europeans

I've only read Shizune's and Hanako's path, but i feel the H-scenes were well "lead" into.
Aside from Misha's which I thought was awkwardly "rushed"? I don't know, her H-scene seemed.... cold and stray?

That's the point of that H-scene.

Despite the hilarity of it, the gimme the chocolate scene felt pretty out of place in that kind of game.

I think Lilly's route demonstrates examples of bad, ok, and good in that order. lol

Hormones it seems to me. Hisao and Shizune had just had that scene where they were feeling them but she pushed him away. He left feeling a bit rejected. It seemed to me she wanted him too, but her personality dictated that she needed to win. That it had to be on her terms with her in control. Hence her going into his room and then bondage.

I've only played LIlly's route, but I thought the H-scenes (especially the first two) were just the right mix of sweet and sensual. I just... didn't feel guilty or cheap during them (porn usually does this for me). I thought they were tender and they didn't seem forced to me. Then again I'm a virgin, so perhaps my opinion is less valid.

The H-scenes in this game weren't that bad. I feel that they were optional though and that they were only detailed if you WANTED them to be detailed. So you can skip over it and still understand what they were doing.

It has a very "teenage" feel. Its your awkward first time again haha.

Problem was that most of the time, the whole h-scene talked about taking clothes off, then half a paragraph of the actual act. and that's it.

The CG quality varied, but some were pretty impressive.
In ranking of h-scenes alone, I rank it.

Shizune (nicely detailed and angled, similar to Lilys, but felt it was written better)
Lily (nice variety, and detailed)
Misha
Rin (no footjob? fire this writer)

Those are the ones I done so far.

I actually haven't really had the inclination to, uh, do anything in response to the CGs in the H-scenes in KS. It's like, the writing is so excellent that it feels like I'd be cheapening it to do something like that.

In what I've played so far, they don't seem that out of place, except Misha's, but I feel that was the point.

Sometimes I feel that the ero scenes don't fit in a visual novel, like Fate/Stay Night or Shuffle! for examples - but here, they seem to fit a lot better, there's (mostly) a purpose to them

Seems like what you consider good H-scenes would be the very thing that would utterly break the experience for me. My opinion on H-scenes in VNs is kinda rigid I'll admit, but I feel that if a VN isn't gonna be a blatant sex romp, it should try to make the H-scenes fit the tone of the scenes they follow up/preceed and I was pleasantly surprised KS did just that.

I think the same things that make KS fall short as an eroge (no cheesy porn lines, no gallons of semen flying around) , make it a much better Visual Novel.

It's also a bit what you're used to, btw. I don't think the KS were too short, I think a lot of H-scenes in other VNs are unnecessarily drawn out. If you're used to H-scenes taking 10 minutes of high-pitched screaming, yeah, KS's scenes are over really quick. But KS's "less is more"-approach is also used in regular comics over here in Europe. (don't know about the US) If a comic book isn't meant as pornographic, but does have sex scenes, sexual intercourse usually doesn't take longer than 3 panels at most, rather than several pages.

The devs never promised you one. If you really think a footjob would have made Rin's and Hisao's bonding scene better, rather than ruining the mood and atmosphere...well...I disagree with your priorities.

No doubt there are people with itching palms who came in for cripple porn and felt short changed. But I applaud the direction the devs took these scenes in and kinda wished more VNs took this approach. I'm not chaste or easily offended by H-content, btw. I just don't like porn commercials in the middle of gripping movies and that's often an approach japanese VNs seem stuck on.
