Gamefaqs contains a good deal of entries for amateur-developed games. They just don't make it on the top10 board lists.

It's the 3rd of January. Tomorrow is definitely the 4th unless we now have the 3.5th of January. Timezones taken into account, and from the time when you made your post, it's all down to if they use New York time (as would be the case if they were really trying to make it coincide with the original /a/ sticky) or if they're using GMT, which would make most sense from a fairness point of view.

The Devs have already mentioned that they won't be revealing the exact time of release to avoid overloading the server, but that it will be occurring some point on the 4th of Jan GMT. So it may be released to some countries as early as evening of the 3rd or for us unfortunate Australians as late as the morning of the 5th

Note: this is a silly post, and you shouldn't take it at face value.
The devs said it will be released on the anniversary according to EST, that means anywhere between 2012-01-04 5:00 UTC and 2012-01-05 5:00 UTC.
The devs didn't specified the exact time, but since the original colored post was made on 2007-01-04 18:53 EST (-05:00), there is a high probability,that it will be released around 2012-01-04 23:53 UTC.
1. It is the exact anniversary.
2. There is some beauty in releasing in the last few minutes of the (UTC) day.
Then again, they may be a step ahead of us, and release as soon as it hits 5:00 UTC, to ease the load on the servers...
Or two steps ahead of us, and do something completley random.
Or three steps ahead of us, and ... I don't know, ask Kenji.
