Music and Sound Effect Files

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to obtain a copy of the sound effect files from the game, for personal use (eg. background noise during festival)? Is this allowed, or am I breaking any copyright(s)?
An answer would be greatly appreciated, as I am not too sure how this works.
Thanks.

It breaks the license used to publish the game, so it's a no.

If fan art, edited screenshots, fan games, and covers of in-game music don't count as "derivative work as prohibited by the license," then what, precisely, does?

Well, the main thing here is that they don't want people to use actual game assets. The rest are fine if they don't try to make a profit or anything like that.

We can and do waive the license when someone comes to ask us for permission with an interesting project, and we generally don't behave like dicks when confronted with most fan creations.
Blatant rips or even worse, sale of material taken from our sites without permission got what they deserved pretty quickly when they happened, though.

This seems to be still available. Did you try to have amazon remove it?

That's good to hear.
To be honest, the reason why I'm asking is because there is a high-school (English) project which I'm currently working on, and I felt that some of your sound files would fit really well into the work. Naturally, I will reference where I've taken it from, and acknowledge it in the bibliography.
If you don't mind then, would you be able to release a copy of the sound files? Or if not, would you be able to direct me to a way which I can obtain them myself?

there's a very tedious way to extract any sound file from any game/program, if you have the time, try this:
1. get a screen recording software (Bandicam free version works just fine)
2. turn on KS, mute background music
3. record instances where sound effect applies
4. use Movie Editor or AVI-to-MP3 converter to turn it into a pure sound file
You can use this method to get any sound effect or soundtrack from anything you can play on your computer. Frankly, as long as you don't use licensed things to make money or boost major site traffic, no one's gonna bother to sue you.

Amazon says it was published March 15th.
It's been mentioned before on these forums a few days later.
Since then nothing seems to have changed.

I think the devs treated that entry as a joke and never bothered reporting it
I'd quit my job if that guy actually made any money.

Uh... No, that's not a joke. Those guys are seriously trying to make money with this stuff.
If you look at
all the books they've "published", I would be very surprised, if they didn't find quite a few people stupid enough to buy a couple...
I recommend keping your job anyway

We looked at it, made
faces, then finally decided it's not even worth the trouble.
Nobody with an IQ above room temperature would buy that anyway.
