Haven't been active lately, you should check this out anyways:

I found this on the i-am-bored.com site, here's the link to the post: http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=61938

I'm not even sure if this is real, the URL even says that it's fake "girlwithnoegsfake.jpg". But it seems like a very realistic photomontage at least.
If it's real we have found our (at least 30 years older) real-life Emi ^^

What do you guys think?

You've got it the wrong way around, Emi is a fictional version of her.

She's Aimee Mullins, a double leg amputee sprinter/model, and a kind of a role model and partial influence for Emi. She's a pretty cool lady, and one of the first people to talk about disabled people becoming "superabled" from the first person point of view.

Wow, that's pretty awesome.
Their names being so similar is intentional? Aimee, Emi...

Now that you say that, do any of the other characters have such a sort of real life inspiration?

I think she's very good looking for almost fifty.
For the record, the lady is only 35.

She was mentioned on the forums several times before. Here are two videos featuring her. I particularly like the second one.

Oh, damn I didn't know that ^^ On the other hand, the similarity is really overwhelming, I should've thought of something like that.
So she's no fake at all.

The thought of Katawa Shoujo Charakters having real-life models is really interesting, a case like Hanako/Rin/Shizune/Lilly is very possible... are there any more models?

Yeah, sorry about that ^^ I'm not very precise when it comes to estimate age :) The videos are great, TED talks are always awesome.

Pulled this from an older topic:
Aura wrote:Rin basically does something that looks more or less like this:

Enjoy supar sekret KS developement reference material, straight outta Youtube. Anyway, as I said there are extremely few, if any things that are completely impossible. Rin and other people without hands just need to approach their daily life a little bit differently than the rest of us. Still, being able to work around her disability doesn't void it. Disability is disability, not inability.
The woman's name is Stacey McInroe Conner.

Just found a very impressive article about an artist who paints life-like portraits despite not being able to recognize faces.
Oh, and he's also mostly paralyzed from the chest down...
Doing things you can't do because you can?

"Cute" is not the word I'd use. Little girls and Teddy Bears are "cute."
"Stunning", maybe?

Women don't instantly become decrepit old hags in their 30s.

 That's not really what I meant.

Although with the way TV and movies tend to portray older women, some women seem to let themselves give up on their own beauty by age 30. :? Not something I like but it's sadly noticeable trend.

As Mirage put it, Stunning is much better word to use to describe her.

Giving up on looking after yourself and your appearance will make you look bad at any age. Likewise, you can look great way beyond your 30s and into your 40s with some effort.

Since it's a bit the subject, do you know successful disfigured people ?
