I don't know if this is technically that related to KS, but I couldn't help but think of Hanako (and Shizune's panties) when I heard about it: Apparently they've created a stem-cell-shooting skin gun that can dramatically shorten the time it takes for major burns to heal. The guy in the video behind the link (which is apparently blocked outside of the US, apologies to those of you who can't see it) had a surprisingly similar pattern to Hanako's, second degree burns across his face, shoulder, and arm - the major difference being that he was completely healed four days later.

That's wild.
Unfortunately I started thinking how much fun it would be to watch people with awful burns shooting each other with stem cell guns... like laser tag.

The fact that we've gone this far into the thread without the obvious stem-cells in the face jokes says that there is hope for us yet.

I saw this over on Dvice the other day. Cool stuff! As long as they're getting stem cells from willing donors these days (versus the unborn), I'm excited to see what applications will come up.

Wonder how long it'll be before "medkits" from any number of first-person-shooters will become realistic? XD
